Tonali was awful tbf. Not taking Burn off when he got the yellow card was what done it for us today.

We need to press.  Dan Burn can’t play so many minutes at left back. Ramsey and Elanga look like v. bad signings.  Woltemade doesn’t suit the system and I’m not seei nt adjustments.

If anyone deserves a chance to put this right Howe does. He's the right man for the job and you stick with the right man through thick and thin. 

It's not just a dodgy patch, it's relegation form. We look worse than every team we play. Beating shit Wolves and Fulham teams at home by a single goal and struggling throughout. Not one convincing performance in league this season

I’m not saying I’m one of them.  More a generally question…. at what point do people start turning on Howe? Hes made some real poor choices lately. From starting 11s , formations/style of play, then sub choices.    Is it going to be soon? Is it justified or knee jerk reaction?

Was thinking this myself, won a cup, couple of european finishes but doesn't look someone who will ever be an elite manager.

 

Too loyal to players who are declining and are now not good enough (Pope, Trippier, Burn, Murphy, Joelinton)

Doesn't sell the for-mentioned declining players 

Plays people out of form (Botman, Gordon)

Too reactive with his subs

Hasn't evolved the formation

Lost any kind of identity in how we play (no intensity, don't counter attack, try to pass it round without having players with the technical ability to do so)

Elanga & Ramsey look like a waste of £90m, and paid Wissa for £55m then got crocked, it came across as desperate.

Tonali and Bruno looked totally wiped out. Start one, bench the other.

 

Our issue is how we use the squad; Eddie isn't rotating enough.

 

Willock, Miley, and Ramsey have barely played. But Big Joe, Tonali, and Bruno have racked up a ton of minutes.

Schar should have played also.

He’s going to have to drop Burn from LB, Pope from GK and Joelinton from Midfield otherwise this will keep happening. We were lucky Jow had to go off. His persistence with Burn at LB left us extremely vulnerable and his choice of Pope continually leaves us in a position where we’re facing attack after attack. We could hope with the latter if we were good at retaining possession but we’re probably the worst side in the league at retaining possession against a press

When the thin becomes the norm and the thick is the exception then the right man is no longer the right man.

I've never wanted him out before but I do believe this feels different to last year when we had a slump. In some of them games we actually played good but results didn't follow suit. 

Has he got it in him to change things up with either formation or his picking the same team each week?

Trippier is struggling in his favoured position right now. Givwn the choice of Burn LB and Trips RB or Trips LB and Krafth RB, its marginal but I'd just about go with the former

I see a lot of people referencing 2 years ago, but back then we were actually exciting to watch, even though we fucked about with Burn at LB back then as well. We played some great stuff, scored loads of goals. This season, particularly away from home, we're just caving in game after game and not even against good opposition either. Needs this break to work it out somehow, not nearly good enough.

 

On the point of him being "on thin ice" by a few, I personally find that suggestion short-term in the extreme and frankly terrifying to think about who we might bring in if the ownership caves.
