No, they would've been great signings.

We cant afford duds. Wissa, Elanga and Ramsey were crazy deals. No value and not at the level we want. Obviously he and the club were in a very tough position. However, to go from a player like Ekitike to Wissa is madness. There should've been a better alternative to Ekitike, he'd already turned us down once, it shouldn't be unexpected for him to do it again.

Wissa got 19 league goals last season.  In a Brentford side.  Yes we overpaid but what choice did we have in the end.. on paper we were signing a PL proven striker.  But it hasn't worked out yet, hopefully it will but it's not looking good atm.

Ramsay is a good player imo.  Think he's judged much too harshly here.

Elanga I'm not sure about.  But the other two I can see why we did get them.

We need to be miles away from using Sunderland games as a marker of anything

The bar has lowered this season considerably, we’ll be lucky to finish above them at the minute.

I agree. I do understand the "give them time" sentiment for Elanga, Ramsey and Wolte (based on historical transfer success), and I also understand the external reasons for the summer going to fuck, but I do think it's pretty cut and dry at this point that the money spent didn't bring in what we needed for this season.

There's a huge amount of work to do in the summer.

I am not convinced PIF are fully backing Eddie anymore after that outlay - They're not footballing people - their mentality is we have spent £250mil and would be expecting instant impact.  I feel Jan is them slightly pulling the rug from Eddie a bit.

So we just give up and let them score more? Who would you have brought on?

give up? We where 5-0 down with 50 minutes to play. We had already given up. We have the rest of the season to worry about. Rest the lads.

To your question , Osula or Neave.

People wanting him out, would you genuinely trust those in charge to bring in a top replacement? Genuine question as it’s another thing to consider.

Nope. Those in charge are fucking useless.

How do we know when he’s lost the dressing room ?

Usually when players fake injury to avoid playing in games were getting tanked in.

If I ask anything from tonight, use the second half as an opportunity to try something completely new that we could implement in the coming weeks against tough opposition.

Whatever other plans we have in the background, roll it out and lets start trying to get used to it in a competitive fixture against a good team.

You mean like a plan B? Wishful thinking sadly.

There's nobody else out there for us. But unless things have improved substantially by midway through next season we'll be getting one of those managers that's no better than Eddie regardless.

Season is gone if Villa beat us in the cup, think home games, particularly a certain derby match will decide if he’s here next year.

Has to be signs of improvement during run in, or think mutual parting of the ways will be likely outcome.

Plenty of tickets on general sale.

Every cloud....

No one has let Howe down more than Gordon. Undermines everything you expect Howe to want from a player. Yet he's there, every game.

We’d have lost 5 or 6 nil tonight if that was the case.

I do wonder whether the group are as tight as they were before though. You see lots more frustration on the pitch than ever before at the moment.

Can’t stand the thought of losing Andy so hope Eddie is here forever.
