This is not a call for it to be done but in some respects, this thread should be locked on match days now.
Lose tonight, and the same conversations are going to go around and around again and immediately post match, everyone is feeling incredibly wound up.

EDIT : Very RAWK I know [emoji38]

We have a horrible confidence sapping away run coming up. And it's not doing Howe or the players any good. Another loss today and it will be so bad for confidence.

I don't think we can blame Howe or the players for this kind of fixture run. It's brutal.

I genuinely cannot fathom anyone wanting him gone tbh.

Without wanting to recover old ground theres tonnes of mitigation dating back from Staveley/Ghoudossi leaving, right the way through to the window just closed and loads inbetween.

With no europe next year, I'd be massively excited to see Howe-Ball 2.0.

With a more measured recruitment drive, with more pragmatic sales and with a good clear out, I'd be buzzing to watch us again next season.

I'm ready for this one to be over tbh.

My big fear for him is the derby at our place. That's the one game where he's at risk of being beyond the point of no return with the matchday fan.

Beat them, have a stab at the CL next round or two and then lets fuck this season off into the bin and go again next year with a refreshed squad and only one game per week.

There's nobody better than Eddie when he's got one game per week to focus on and more time on the grass.

I love him more than ever me and would be gutted if he left. Absolutely gutted.

Support a lot in your post, but at some time we/him need to handle this

The fact he doesn’t rate Bruno is fucking insane.

I actually like most of the Ramble guys now, Luke is quality.

Football Between the lines is probably my current favourite.

Luke is a genuinely nice guy as well. Worked with him for years and of course - he's a Pompey mush which helps...

Completely agree and, again, without wanting to cover old ground last summers recruitment killed him.

I think he insisted on CL ready players BECAUSE of the lack of training time.

Now, without CL, he'll be able to go for those players who are a tier below with very high ceilings imho. He'll then develop them which is one of his biggest strengths.

When you sign 6 x established players, who you're going to want to rely upon as early as possible in the season it's less than ideal that only one of them has proven to be reliable and we're now in February.

He's a massively switched on guy though. He'll have learnt from it.

I genuinely believe he'll not make the same mistake again.

Mentioned it earlier but been seeing this graphic doing the rounds. Pretty telling graphic and tells the story really. Until we can boost the squad/revenue to be able to cope better then this is the pattern that will continue.

Would not be shocked to see next season go back to the 1.97 average if we got momentum.

Backs up that we’ve conceded some really shit goals a long side not taking our chances. The players need to take a hard look at themselves.

One of the comments was “The Pope/Ramsdale effect” [emoji38]

Absolutely. Ross Wilson has copped a disproportionate amount of flack (Hopkinson even more, for having the temerity to speak publicly in a building that isn't a new stadium), and we should be heading into the summer with a renewed hope.

We should be more equipped - both in terms of bodies and finance - to recruit effectively, meanwhile there isn't a player whose saga/departure could have the same cataclysmic effect that Isak had. PSR will still prevent us from matching our competitors' recruitment, but maybe we'll be in a better position to navigate its bullshit.

I appreciate we're still in three competitions but it honestly feels like this season is now about damage limitation. The biggest damage of all - other than getting relegated, which is extremely unlikely - would be sacking the manager.

Still back Eddie 100%, a team with our squad depth and fixture pile up was always going to struggle at some point. And everything seemed to go against us before a ball was kicked this season, from Mitchell, Isak to transfers etc. I’ve every confidence we’ll get back on track and if we do miss out on Champions League next season so be it, take a reset and move on..

What I can’t stand is people like Luke Edward’s who can’t wait to jump on the ‘fans forcing Eddie out’ bandwagon… fuckin load of shite… The vast majority of folk I know are firmly in the ‘Eddie in’ camp and there was good vocal support for him on Saturday… And whilst I don’t necessarily agree, I do respect the views of others who’d prefer a change…

Expectations are much higher now but expectations also need to be managed.. maybe it’s just having experienced real shite at times over almost 50 years that leads me to believe things really ain’t all that bad… and of course I’m still living off a cup final win !!!

Agree here too, I believe with time and better squad he could handle europe and multiple domestic competitions.

I still think the timing of Mitchell leaving was a proper Cunt's trick by him, it was like a school teacher leaving the day before a new term starts.

I think he was pushed (no evidence to support this obviously), for the false Isak promises which stoked this summer shit storm.

Is there a similar one for Villa? That'd be interesting.

This is the big one, he came when all hope looked lost and he fought tooth and nail to keep us in the league and elevate us to the CL in his first full season, the absolute bare minimum we can do is return the favour when he needs us most.

Eddie out narrative is similar, although hugely less significant, to the Brexit campaign and Reform's Stop the Boats

A minority of loudmouthed halfwits egged on by a complicit and agenda driven media to whip up a self fulfilling prophecy into fruition. Even thicker people jumping on the bandwagon of white noise.

Enjoy the game 😉

I am not sure anyone doubts he is giving it everything, I certainly don't.  He needs to find aswers though, and pretty quickly - and I hope he does.  Just starting to get some doubts if he has it in him, to trully take us to the next level or not.  Time will tell.

Really dont think that someone as sharp as Eddie doesn't have the talent or the tools to work it out. But he does need the time. Why are we in such a hurry? Hes had us head and shoulders above where we expected to be... much to his own detriment.

Theres not many other managers that could match his effort and skill at this level and would be willing to come here... or to grow with us. No one will get it like Eddie.

I'd rather be shit for a bit and ride it out with Eddie than bring in someone new who leaves us for a better job as soon as they can.

Agree with this, only question mark is how we do this summer. Surely we alter our approach?

Random comment here but I noticed a similar pattern with my friends/family and what I seen on social media, those who are super Brexit/Reform/Farage loving, absolutely HATED Nick Pope and genuinely thought Dubravka was a world class keeper

I never understood the link but it did amuse me 😂
