Genuine question, but why is Elanga getting more patience than Wissa? Seems like there's a negative opinion of Wissa but a lot of people jumping to Elanga's defence and even praising him when he does the bare minimum.

Wissa has contributed more than Elanga from a stats viewpoint, and also had an injury to deal with. He have a bad attitude?

I have patience for both, but Elanga has done more and is showing genuine improvement. Hopefully Wissa will follow eventually.

To me it was Jackson + Keep Wilson or DCL on a free once we were getting priced out of Wissa and all the rejections occurred.

But once the signings happened I was excited / trusting of course and liked the potential / differences of Big Nick + Wissa being a hungry, scrappy all action goal scorer who scores good and ugly goals.

Funnily enough I always thought DCL made sense as a Wilson replacement, and I assumed that the reason we didn't go for him was his wage demands were considered unreasonable given his injury history. Howe was keen on him a couple of years ago supposedly.

Woltemade I just can't make sense of unless we are planning on changing the way we play at some point. He does look like he has some qualities, just looks like a fish out of water in our team.

I think if Elanga and Ramsey had hit the ground running and the team was overall functioning better, we would have been able to integrate Woltemade more effectively. Since we had such a rough season and nothing was clicking, Howe has gone back to what he knows will work and what the players have done before. Therefore he needs someone who can run really hard up front.

I'm still hoping there is a place for Woltemade at some point.

Upon reflection, we were better off keeping our powder dry [emoji38]

Nicholas Jackson made sense at the time mind.

He was the one I wanted (after the more unrealistic Ekitike), I expect the Chelsea wage is the reason it didn’t happen

He would have been a machine under Howe

Osula is alright from what I seen of him.

Aye he is but this is like  Sesko being behind Mason Mount and Zirkzee as your 9 in March.

I’ve got time for all of our players. I like Elanga the least as a footballer and think Woltemade as the least chance of success.  But they are with us so I try and look for the best.

I don’t think he was on massive wages tbf.

I read 200k+, although that could be inaccurate

The Bayern factor didn’t help

Google suggesting it’s £100-120k. But aye maybe the Bayern wage is £200k.

The total Jackson package is apparently €80m which is too much.

I’m as disappointed as the next fan with a lot of how this season has panned out; the summer window, the away form, the worrying dip in home form, some of the in game management/subs etc.

However, Howe continues, in my opinion, to get us competing with some of the best, and wealthiest, clubs in world football. Yes we’ve had our usual hiding at the Etihad and Anfield and we’ve often not turned first half domination into wins, but fucking hell, Howe has largely been a magician since he came here.

Yes there’s still issues (Wolte, Wissa, Elanga the GKs) but Howe normally finds solutions, like compensating for the loss of Bruno, the misfiring strikers etc.

Hopefully we have a strong finish to the season and in the summer the executive structure starts to add value and gives Howe the support he needs.
