We haven’t been top teams in the CL at all - Barcelona were it.  The other two matches were cakewalks against subpar opposition - if we’re knackered at this point we might as well throw in the towel

You need to look ahead, not just who we have played so far. Buts look at this 7 day schedule - Spurs mid week cup game, then a PL away game, then Bilbao in the CL at home on Wednesday.

Cakewalk? Woltemade for instance has had to play and start in every single match so far with no real option for resting him. If you think this isn’t a big factor for us then there is no point continuing replying to you. It’s as tough as it gets.

Again though, the performances are lacking. We are not scoring enough plain and simple, the front 3 have not clicked yet. Elanga isn’t there yet. But on top of that everyone is suffering with the run of games.

Wissa would have made a huge difference.

Cakewalk?

That Belgian side and Benfica?  Yes, cakewalks - Benfica would be rock bottom of the PL and that Belgian side would struggle to make the playoffs in the second division.   They were shite

This lack of creativity and goals from midfield and wide areas can work if you have the high intensity game where you cause mistakes or catch the opponents off guard like we used to do.

I guess due to all the injuries a few years ago when in the CL Eddie decided to change/lower the intensity but still with the same type of players.

To be constantly at the top you need quality creditors and goal threads around your striker. We don’t have that.

I really think it’s that simple. I cannot come with any other reason for this total crap away from home and against the mid table teams.

I think Eddie got it wrong signings wise. Most of us have screamed for a creative attacking midfielder for years. Still none. And we just don’t have the quality from wide areas either. Lacking both we get this I’m afraid.

All managers lose their way at the club they're managing eventually.

It might be whats happening with Howe.

Classic sign of this is being up for the big games but just half arsing it against poorer and smaller opposition.

I've yet to see anything from him to change up some of the dross being served. The team is mostly the same week in week out when we clearly have choices available to change it up.

I expected better so far this season.

Half the PL are playing European football, and we’ve just spent £200m expanding the squad.  We rotated midweek.  I’m not watching a performance this poor because we’re tired - we’ve been shit away for quite a while now.

Our away form has been poor since the year we finished 4th. We won 7 last season but 6 of them were against the bottom 6 who were all absolutely hopeless . I know everyone is better at home but I have yet to see any sort of reasonable explanation as to why we can beat almost anyone at home but are so poor away .

So many questions have to be asked of him today, why did we play so negative against a team in turmoil, why mess the formation up at half time and make us worse, why take your best striker off when its only 1-2.

Love Eddie but on the back of 3 good wins that was disgraceful.

13th in the league after a quarter of the season played.

He’ll be gone next summer if we’re still in that position come May.

There are absolutely no excuses for performances like this, considering the money spent and the squad he’s got at his disposal.

He deserves to be in charge through the season no matter what happens, but pressure on – and rightly so.

On the players this one today for me. All been awful, so slow and disjointed, full of individual mistakes that they shouldn’t be making

If you can tell me 1) what the formation is right now and 2) who is playing where then I’ll say it’s 100% just on the players

Absolutely bizarre decision to take the only player we've had score consistently in the league this season rather than try and change the game in his favour when we're a goal down.

Guessing something must be up with him? Load, injury or illness? No other reason to take him off. Even more baffling when we saw so much of the ball second half. But had Osula up there who is useless unless he has space to run into.
