He also managed them while they slowly fell apart.

A club like that are always going to go down again at some point. Let’s not forget they were a broken goal line technology away from sending Aston Villa down that season as well.

Aye Lambert and Wilder did what Howe did on a fraction of the budget. Let’s get them in.

Lambert was awful, Wilder had one good season. Howe sustained it for 5 years while consistently on the lowest budget.

Low budget? You mad. He spent a small fortune with big wages and had some very expensive flops to his name.

Not with clubs the size of Bournemouth they didn't

But at the same time, we’re an infinitely bigger club than Bournemouth. Instilling an inferiority complex about every team being bigger and better than us, and fighting against them to form a team ethic isn’t going to work here.

Which was more to do with their overspending than the man in charge.

 nonsense. He kept a team in the Premier League for 5 seasons, a club who had never in their history been above Division 2/League 1 before he joined

I don't particularly want Howe but give the bloke some credit

Talking about the likes of Conte and Zidane last week and here we are now talking about Howe and Rooney

Its almost like keeping Bruce on is helping lower expectations by starving already hungry fans.

£200m Howe spent to keep Bournemouth in the PL. no idea how he managed it. Fair play.

That's what circa £40 million season on average?

I agree he made some awful buys, but overall he did a fair job.

I don't think he'll be in contention so we don't need to worry about it.

Taking a League Two team to five consecutive season in the Premier League is a ridiculous achievement like.

just the £80m spend in 2 championship seasons. However did he do it?

So many teams gamble promotion in the Championship and fail like Derby, Villa almost went bankrupt because of it, QPR overspent and haven't challenged until quite recently, Sheffield Wednesday were one final away.

Would be happy with Howe here, he's an improvement on what we have and can have a tactics discussion to show his knowledge of the sport

hopefully not but I’d just like to add of the hidden cost of wages isn’t on display here. I doubt their few k of fans covered the wages of all these signings. Bournemouth grew substantially as they had financial backing, not down to savvy management. They lasted longer in the prem for the same reason.
