If Armstrong hadn’t already been here he’s the sort of player we’d be a bit interested about. Similar sort of figures to Eze. Maybe we’ve got some sort of sell-on clause so thinking of the cashback we’ll get from the deal. Never rated him though.

It's transparent as fuck though. No imagination, no strategy, just familiar and bonus Geordie.

He is never a PL striker like.

 

He’s basically the same player as Gayle, so would make sense in a way, to replace one Championship striker with another.

 

Wouldn’t make any sense at all if you were trying to be competitive/stay up.

Only 14 of his 41 starts were as a striker though.

The bloke has scored a handful of goals in the championship. He's not as good as Dwight Gayle, let's be honest. Gayle has scored 20 odd goals twice in two championship seasons, including 10 MotM performances compared to Armstrong's 6, 1, 5 and 16 goal seasons with 1 MotM performance. I know who I'd rather have in my Premier League side.
