I wonder when we'll get the story about other clubs holding NUFC ransom because they know we need a striker, despite it being entirely our fault for being in this situation

This.... of course any well run club would buy the striker first in the likelihood of Gayle or Carroll getting injured..... but not us, as we perrenially monitor or keep our powder dry

Bournemouth want £30 million for Callum Wilson. Gerrrrrout of here

Really not excited about these relegated strikers man. Much rather Ollie Watkins, Alfredo Morales or Edsonne Oduard.

I know he was coming back from injury but he looked very poor in their run in. Definitely not £30m

They will end up taking between 15 and 20 for him i reckon.  I’d go for it, he’s much better than what we have.

(Then i remember i support NUFC)

I know our transfer policy is somewhat abysmal but after reading that I'm glad youre not in charge of it!

Which of our strikers is better than Wilson then?

Steve Bruce probably thinks Cruz Azul is a playable race in D&D

One of the reasons I hope the moneyball consortium make a move for us is so we aim for these outside of the box type of transfers. The type that could really get you ahead as a club without potentially costing your club it’s whole budget.

Yeah, watching that was just sad.

Just a guy with a youtube channel, albeit a really good one, and you know he has thought things through and has more creative and financially viable solutions than our entire recruitment team has, and he likely doesn't even support Newcastle.

It's embarrassing man.

The ironic thing about Ashley's penny-pinching approach to recruitment is that it actually costs the club significantly more over the long-term by refusing to meet the valuations of quality players like Aubmeyang, Lacazette, Tagliafico etc. Then we end up paying over the odds for players like Muto, Joelinton etc.

Yes, certainly.

Just as annoying is the lack of effort in identifying the talent that can be had for reasonable fees. It's not an impossible approach, but it's clear we don't really do it properly.
