He was also backed on Joelinton and Lewis to the tune of £50m, and they can't get in a team which has awful full backs and a striker who is fit for 25% of the season. Totally, and I kinda hate how this sort of thing gets glossed over - not that I'm saying the transfer policy is in any way functional or acceptable. But he's had competitive cash backing every summer, with his main targets secured every time, and we're still absolute wank. Any 'hands tied' agenda you might hear with Bruce is basically total bollocks; even Pardew was working under far tighter restrictions than this dickhead.
