Wheys gona plaay fowah keepas

It's going to be his new tactic. When we are behind he hoys all the strikers on. When we are ahead, he is going to hoy all the keepers on. Brucie logic.

Such a nothing club. Bruce started the window saying we needed at least 2 midfielders & a centre half. Now we Scrabbling around for loans. The squad is full coz he’s put 4 keepers in the squad. Fuckin shambles.

He’s shite like most of them and should have been replaced with better quality after promotion. Whether he goes or stays is immaterial, we will either not replace him or if we do it won’t be with anyone better. So, meh…

Very average player, just seems better than the rest because he can run around a bit more. There was a highlight video of him showing his tackling skills but was pretty damning how many of his last ditch tackling is down to him being out of position in the first place.

He keeps out the way as well so doesn't get blamed for giving up possession when he never had it in the first place.

He has a spell of 4 or 5 games a season when he influences games for the good, gets on the ball etc the rest of the time he's fairly anonymous.

I always harp back to this but Hayden was so good towards the end of Rafa’s tenure. Pressing high up at times and helping us turn over possession quicker. Never had the opportunity to recapture that form under Bruceball

Because Rafa never played Shelvey.  Shelvey is the weak link and he skews everyone else's responsibility.  Hayden has so much more freedom to win the ball without Shelvey.

Hayden is a player we should’ve improved on, but haven’t. There have been many players like that during Ashley’s tenure and we still have a large amount of them at the club; Gayle, Dummett, Clark, Darlow etc.

But Hayden still gives 100%. It’s hard to knock the lad when he does. He’s not a lazy piece of shit like Shelvey and has gone through some incredibly tough times where he easily could’ve given up.

He’s given his all for this club and has been the upmost professional. On his day (played alongside someone competent and using tactics) he can be a good player.

Compared to the rest of the dross in the midfield at the club, he should be the first on the teamsheet.

Going by the first few games this season it looks like lack of fitness will be as much of a problem as lack of signings

Who'd have thought playing hoards of lower league shite wouldn't prepare players for the rugours if top level football?

Found it odd how strong we were in the back end of games late last season, not really sure that was fitness related as such though seemed to be we were behind in games or got our backs up and the adrenaline carried us.

Dunno if already mentioned, but we have been linked with Glen Kamara (of Rangers). Great player, but Rangers will be asking quite a bit so no idea where the story comes from.

We've already established that he's not technically a great player. I don't think anyone is arguing that he is. But then the only one I can think of in the squad who is good on the ball is Shelvey. How many games does he influence for the good? He might have a few good touches during 90 mins, but most of the time he's just a spectator watching the game go on around him. If the game was played at walking pace he'd be an England player.

We have no legs in midfield other than Hayden. The rest are all too weak or too slow to compete with PL midfielders.

Agreed, but he was never a priority. There were always at least 5 positions that held higher priority. Since then we;'ve signed at least four more that need replacing before him.
