Kieran Trippier: Galatasaray 'set to make offer' (Romano/Hope)

Recommended Posts

So that's Kelly and possibly Trippier leaving after Eddie said there'd be no more outgoings after Miggy in his presser on Friday. Makes you wonder if he's telling the truth about incomings too...

He's definitely telling the truth about incomings.

I would rather have no players.

Than no PSR headroom.

PSR Headroom can play on the right. "Money to spend in the summer" can cover CB and "We could get better value from sponsorship in the future" could be Isak's backup.

Let go now for something, or keep and lose for nothing.

Not a great situation, and lays bare just how ridiculous the rules are, we have money to spend and can't spend it, football is so fucking twisted to keep some cunts in the money.

If the offer is decent I think we accept. Its possibly the last window Tripps fetches a half decent fee.

Shite though that we have to wheel and deal like this

It’s a gamble but with Krafu back and he can do a job at RB it may pay off if it increases our spend capacity to rebuild strong in the summer.

Agree mate. Tripps is on big wages and a few extra mil in the bank helps our "you know what" position for the summer...

Realistically, if we want to sign anyone in the summer (and prior to Almiron/Kelly I had serious doubts whether we would, we're definitely not signing anyone in January - edit: yes I know it's February ), these are they type of sales we need to make.

On the one hand, there's the very real prospect of our threadbare squad being fucked and witnessing a serious drop-off this season, but on the other... we're doing absolutely nowt next season without a freshen-up. I'm fully aware that it's the 'fault' (read: feature) of PSR but it needs to happen.

I think we would have regardless. Although these sales this window would likely leave us in a position to take advantage of teams in a weaker PSR position?

Getting rid of deadwood pre-summer helps. A lot of those who are deemed surplus to requirements often move towards the end of a window. It's a calculated risk from us, but I sort of understand it.

That's my take on it as well. Risky I agree, but at least we do have a proper RB as cover so might be better getting some money in if Tripps wants the move.

I hope there is a surprise incoming (don’t think there will be). It would set us up well for an exciting summer and again a gamble but we do have enough to get by all being well in the injury department which no one can predict.

I know we have his contract until 2026 and he may still have a value in the summer this sort of deal we should respect the player and if he wants to go let him he's never going to be able to play week on week and despite Tino not being great in certain areas of the pitch Trips just hasn't been the marauding play maker we had the 4th place finish.

Id let him go, now is the time to recoup money back on players for a transfer (squad) rebuild in the summer.

I'm honestly not sure that Emil Krafth is any worse, he's certainly not worse defensively IMO. Trippier is obviously miles ahead with the ball but it's also second and third choice we are talking about.

Tino- Krafth

Schar- Lascelles

Burn- Botman

Hall- Targett

Can surely see us until the summer?
