Kieran Trippier: to join Wolves on a free (various)

If we renew this guy's contract we honestly have not learnt a single thing last few windows

If Tino goes, we'll have zero right-backs in the squad because Krafth's contract won't get renewed as he's so injury prone. It's not ideal but it might be a pragmatic choice we're forced to make, especially given the turnover we might be looking at elsewhere in the squad. And if there is a high turnover, it could be useful to have the likes of him in the building to keep standards.

Starting him today was a big mistake. Probably at his peak he is the best right back we ever had but his time is up.

Well he was absolutely exceptional only a couple of games ago against Man Utd. Not trying to pretend he isn't at the end of his career; clearly he is. But this sort of thing always gets said when we lose; the reality is, as far as backup full-backs go, he's pretty dependable but with significant limitations. We owe him a lot even this season given what a sicknote Tino has been.

A truly transformative signing.

Could write paragraph after paragraph about how key he has been to this resurgence leading to that league cup trophy, but for now thanks for your efforts Kieran and all the best in your next step.

The original beacon of change for me back in the early days of the new era. Yes, he's not at the same level anymore, but he personified the ambition and brought a wealth of experience and guidance for the team.

Wish you well Kieran. And thank you.

Massive signing and a modern day club legend, but absolutely the right decision for him to move on this summer.

Hope he gets a good send off in the last few games and I'm sure he'll be back in some capacity one day if he stays in the game.

Pulled it back after his personal life derailed his performances, certainly not to the standard it was, but age has also taken its toll.

Gutted as he's a real leader, and came in to rescue us at a real low. Hopefully the lowest we'll ever be again.

Thanks for everything. Hope he comes back in coaching capacity when he's done with playing.

A big blow for Howe as well.

Oh man I knew this would be likely but still sad to see him go. Even if it is probably for the best. What a signing he’s been.

He was pretty much the face of the new era on the pitch in those first couple of years. Always hoped he'd stay on in some capacity but he clearly wants to keep playing week in week out and it won't happen here. All the best to him, a brilliant servant to the club who'll always be remembered fondly.
