pedro111
I have always held a candle for Woodgate as the best CH I have seen play for us but man this lad is so so good, I love him more and more with every passing game. Never seems to make a mistake.
The Butcher
There's not a single CB out there I'd swap him for.
Dr Jinx
He’s an absolute unit, reads the game so well too. His transfer fee is absolutely cheap.. for his potential. Him and Pope and obviously Tripps have added such calmness to the back line.. it allows Schär and Burn to do their thing and know someone will be there to cover for them if they mess up. CPL
Some of his and Schar's crossfield balls were lush. Make it look so easy.

Guehi at Palace and Collins at Wolves is 21, but very very shit player though, big part of why they are where they are on the table.
nufcjmc
Don't remember much of him all game I guess that's the sign of an assured defender, still adapting to the league but certainly unphased by it all.
Lotus
Thought his tackling was very good but he was beaten in the air a couple of times by DCL. Don’t think it was the jump as much as upper body strength. Pretty sure he’ll work on addressing that.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
He seemed shocked he didnt beat DCL to the ball for his header over the bar. I like that, you know he's going to use it. Smart lad, he's going to be mint.

Probably more just simple body positioning, there's not a fucking chance that DCL has better upper body strength than Sven. DCL has quite a good leap and is explosive and does have very good strength but Sven is easily one of the strongest in the league.
sixx
He’s a lot less blood and thunder than I imagined. Seems to have a great understanding of positioning, doesn’t need to dive in a lot.
STM
Tells you something that players are pinging 40 yards passes regularly and I have no clue which fucker has done it.
pedro111
I have been impressed by the way he wins the ball when it gets stuck under the opposition's feet. He has the knack the same way Bruno does of coming out with it.

54
Whats been weird is how under the radar he seems to have gone in the national press, been lots of praise for Trippier, Bruno, Pope even Schar, but no-one seems to be taking note of this absolute man mountain. Invisible wall, the opposition can’t see him when running in the final 3rd and then bang ”WTF was that?” Na na na na na na na na Botmaaaan ? ? Lazarus
I think this reputation for being slow and not having much pace is because he is so composed and has a great sense of positioning. Seems to be totally unflappable.

KaKa
You guys need to chill out We can't want good players and then get pissed off when they get called up for international duty. It's a great sign that he's been called up and that Newcastle have allowed him to take this next step. Other players will be noticing this sort of stuff. The College Dropout
He's not the "dominant" type of defender - he's lowkey but great at what he does. DCL has a tremendous leap. He was always going to win 1.
