Intrigued to see how we fit £20m Henderson, £30m Botman, £25m Lodi, £50m Paqueta, £20m Harrison, £25m Ekitike and £30m DCL into our "£60m budget"

We’re selling Lewis, Hayden, Gayle etc to Al-Hilal for £200m

It was a really good point on the last page that it could be a £60 million to £100 million budget in terms of FFP. So for example if we paid a fee of £50 million for Paqueta and he signed a five year deal, that'd only be £10 million from this window's budget.

So we could in fact  sign 6 players valued at 50m and that would be 60m towards the FFP. ?

That's if you pay in installments across the contract which is likely the case, but some deals don't happen like that.  Obviously this comes back at you in later years.

You'd need to take wages and contract length into account too.

Understud .

Still get 2/3 top class players in ..not to mention free agents

Yep, and you have to remember, with amortisation that means it would also be £60m+ off the accounts for each of the coming 5 years before you even sign anyone else.

Yes but our revenue / sponsorship deals / tv money / potentially European qualification money / shirt sales etc

should then help to boost pot ??

At present, before the Transfer Window even opens, three players seem (to me) to be our most likely purchases.

They are - Lucas Paqueta, Renan Lodi and Dean Henderson.

When the window closes it will be interesting to see if ANY of those three have actually become Newcastle United players :).

Oh, absolutely. I just think they won't go full pelt till all that starts to fall into place, or you end up in the situation Everton have found themselves in.
