I imagine the budget is less of an issue with someone like Maddison as he'll be viewed as a long term signing. Splashing 25m+ on the likes of Sarr would still leave us needing to strengthen the RW in the coming years so you're not really getting the full value out of your expenditure.

Not a link I was expecting at all. Would take a hefty lump of cash and for a player most suited to a position we don't really use?

If we could still bring in someone like Dennis who can play across the front three I guess it could make sense, but even he would be £20m+ you'd think and I can't see us spending another £70-80m.

Spoiler

...ah fuck it, we can dream right?

Bruno

Joelinton --- Maddison

Dennis ----- Wilson ----- Maxi

Now it's very public you'd expect the likes of Spurs to come in now too.

Yeah, assume it’s been leaked by Leicester to demonstrate they’re willing to sell at the right price.

Aye, it's got bidding war all over it. Not to be a doom-monger but I'm not really raising my hopes here like.

Nice to have it confirmed what calibre of player we're after.

Now that's more like it. What a fucking signing that would be and the sort of player I think we will go the extra to secure. Surprised if there's not a bigger club go for him though?

I think clubs are weary o f going for established English players because of the added costs, look at Grealish last year. He plays quite a specialised role as well.

Would be a great signing. Have to wonder who is advising the club on valuations for players. £40m is very low for him. Wonder where Howe sees him fitting in

The issue is a bloated squad and wages. Next summer we have loads of dross out of contract and it frees up huge amounts of cash. It’s a short term issue.

Based on your name I'm guessing you'll be able to clue me up on this. Do Leicester have money issues and if so why?

I've not been aware of any Evertonesq money spunking on shite or over the hill players. In fact Leicester have in my eyes been a very smartly run club.

Me too very cautious but it takes us to a new level even offering the money for him , this would announce we are here in my opinion .

Maybe we wanted Paqueta but he doesn’t want to come here.

People will choose to ignore these posts even though it was reported he wants champions league football just as many times it was reported he’s interested in coming here.

It's not that I don't rate him, or that I think Leicester are trying to start a bidding war that's a head-scratcher for me, it's that I don't see where he fits in with our existing style of play as a 10 and that we're much more desperate for a RW and ST.
