Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Well blow me! Surprised to see we've actually bid for him in the first place and if the only reason it's been rejected is payment structure then you'd like to think this would actually get done. Before the weekend would be nice.

There will be a new bid. Question is when and how much. Hopefully we know sooner rather than later.

Aye, we don't chase a player for 3 years to walk away after one bid is rejected.

Can't remember who, but I think I remember someone reporting last night that the first offer would likely be rejected. So it's going as expected.

I assume payment terms is a translation type error. I dont think he means how we pay the fee but more how much, although it does sound like that.

Not sure, he said payments terms and then mentions them wanting more separately. Sounds to me like it was more structure.

Hope you are right. Unless it was more up front which would kind of be a bit of both.

Am I the only one a little concerned about this one ?  If we do sign Ekitike does that mean we are selling Isak and this is just to appease the fanbase (remember the  Andy Cole sale )

Hope my bad vibes are way off

If Ekitike's the Ferdinand and Isak is the Cole, then is that a bad thing?

Yes you are. This is a completely original point that literally no one has expressed.

I know I'm probably a little bit too chronically online but....

...have you been under a rock for the last 24 hours?

If other clubs are willing to pay more, why haven't they?

Maybe need to sell players before they decide to (Nunez/Liverpool) (Jackson/Chelsea) hence why we decided to go early after not getting JP. Frankfurt might be happy to leave it late in window. The player might also…

According to exclusive information from Sky Sport, Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly rejected a written offer from Newcastle United for €80 million on Tuesday morning – primarily due to the payment terms, which SGE did not agree to. ↪️ At €80 million, Ekitike would already become the Magpies' record transfer. In 2022/23, Newcastle paid €70 million for former Borussia Dortmund player Alexander Isak. The Premier League club hasn't paid more to date. ↪️ Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche wants more, however. There are clubs that have already indicated they would be willing to pay a higher sum. The poker game is on.
