We know we have a massive wedge for a striker now so if they get Ekitike, we can go get Sesko with a clear run now Arsenal have Gyokeres.

Ekitike was the Isak replacement

Surely everyone sees that now man

Club record fee for a position we play one player in.

1. Buy Ekitike. Keep Isak. Bueno.

2. Tell Liverpool to do one. They sign Etikite, we keep Isak going forward now Liverpool and Arsenal have their strikers. Fine.

3. Buy Ekitike, sell Isak next year for a ton of cash and buy some ballers™ with the profits. Not ideal but not necessarily the worst thing if we buy well.

4. We buy Ekitike, sell Isak now, spunk the profits on a few more ballers™ immediately. Again, not ideal but could be worse. Would rather 3.

5. We sell Isak. Chelsea inevitably turn up and gazump us for Ekitike like the transfer whores they are... fuuuuck.

In the medium term for sure. There was always an element of succession planning.

Just pay what they want for Ekitike, Scalvini, Trafford and Gallagher. Give Isak a new shiny contract.

Establish a sister company called Bank of Newcastle United and buy enough shares for it to have 1bn+ in capital to play with then use the revenues for PSR purposes

Fuck me that's amateur hour from Liverpool. Its bigger amateur hour than Trent and Konate.

Another club gets to decide who they play up front. And by us bidding for their #2 option, we get to influence how much they pay for him if #2 is all they get.

Their fans will no doubt spin it as a tactical masterstroke.

6. Buy Ekitike.  Keep Isak.  Buy Salah and VVD and make them stewards in the Gallowgate bogs.  Buy Anfield and fill it with turd.  Knock down Anfield letting the turd flow through the city, significantly improving the place.  Obtain the worldwide rights to the phrase 'Calm down' and bugs bunny Liverpool off to the middle of the Atlantic before sinking it to make the world a better place.

2. is actually Liverpool overpay for Etikite by being stupid enough to let NUFC bid on him. It will be overpay on fee and wages.

The narrative Romano describes only makes sense if you think Liverpool can force us to sell Isak to them and only them. This only works if Isak downs tools for a move to Liverpool, and not a move to Real or PSG or any of the other clubs who've signed Liverpool targets. There have been at least three in three years. Tchouameni, Bellingham and Alonso as manager. Trent has just walked to Real, and Konate wants to do the same. Diaz wants to leave for Barca or maybe Bayern if they are bidding on him. Somehow in all of this, Isak is presented as wanting Liverpool and only Liverpool. It seems deluded to me, way more deluded than any NUFC fan fancying a two striker formation.

Plan, though I'd sell Anfield to ourselves for a massive psr profit before filling it with turd.
