They shouldnt be bidding for him anyway. I get they want to improve their league, but Nunes isn't exactly star quality is he? No one will mention his name in Europe ever again after he goes out there. Meanwhile a PIF owned club has funded a team that want to take our star player away from us. The whole thing is just completely stupid. Edited July 16, 2025 by Decky
Skeletor
I'm all for that level of pettiness though. Should be the default when having to deal with Liverpool.
et tu brute
Hasn't been reported yet what our second bid was. Really to avoid this dragging on, we either match the release clause and let Ekitike make the decision, or put this bid as the final one and tell Frankfurt that's our final offer. If they turn it down, then move onto other options. It really depends on Liverpool making an offer, for if they do, I can see Frankfurt wanting the release cause value, with two clubs tabling bids. Andy84
I’ve watched a few Liverpool fan stuff on YT - silly I know. They go on like we should be scared of them
Doctor Zaius
Really do think we're being used in all of this to force Liverpools hand. I don't like any of it.

RodneyCisse
Same position as yesterday then, let Liverpool spunk money on a player they’ve not been tracking and we keep Isak. Ekitike makes the right choice and picks us and we keep Isak.
KennyUtd
Fuck this. Offer Atletico €80 million for Alvarez. Much better anyway.

Meh, the key thing is to keep hold of Isak and them buying Ekitike would rule them out. We all love the idea of spending big on an exciting European prospect but there’s no guarantee he’s going to be a success and it’s a lot of money. I’d be happy with him but I’m not worried if Liverpool are spooked into buying him.
WinstonFC
Whats annoying is that Eddie must really really rate Ekitike. The thought of us losing Isak next summer (pref abroad) and Ekitike turning into the next Isak for the scouse cunts is mind numbing. Really hope we get Ekitike

Where at Newcastle he is the main man - Who knows- maybe I am talking shite but it's just my thoughts. They got Salah to a 2 year so they could sell him to Saudi after 1. Ekitike ? Isak is first choice and if we want to play them as a two why couldn't they ? The block if any comes a year down the line when Bayern and possibly Barce want him. Agree with this. Either way we could do with a swift resolution and if it doesn't go our way we swiftly turn our attention to a Centreback and matching Burnleys valuation of Trafford. GallowgatePigeon
If this saga has taught us anything, it's that there is no journalist out there who really knows what's going on. That Florian Plattenburg gimp who works for Sky has tangled himself in knots contradicting himself about this saga. Ornstein & Romano have exposed themselves as shills, doing the dirty work of the cartel clubs, in particular Romano. Companies like BBC & TalkSport will aggregate it all and churn out some absolute nothing burger of an article so they're not seen to be missing out. For all the shit we give Edwards, Hope and Ryder for knowing fuck all (and rightly so!), their track record in this window isn't much worse than the so called reliable sources Edited July 16, 2025 by GallowgatePigeon
