Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

The hope we've got to have is that Liverpool aren't dumb enough to go over the release clause (Which we've already met if reports are true) AND that Ekitike wants to join us over them.

If those two things go our way, we'll get him.

Whoah what ! Reports we met the release  clause ?

Take it the Pedro transfer saga passed you by?

Don’t trust agents. In fact this is my only doubt about signing this lad. Not only do we seem to of signed sensible players but they seem to be represented fairly well.

Once the word “super” agent is mentioned it should set alarm bells ringing.

Though… to contradict myself is this the same agent used for the Kelly sale?

As soon as Chelsea came in for him he gave his preference though.

BILD and some other places reported this morning we made a second offer of £80M (they probably meant €80M). Which just so happens to be what his *reported* release clause is.

If Liverpool were going to power play they’d just pay the release clause. So they must have their own budgetary constraints as it stands.

Or, and this is just what I believe, they don't think Ekitike is actually worth his release clause and this has all been about Isak all along. They couldn't give two shits about Ekitike unless they can get him well under the reported 80M

Yes but that was always on the cards and him and his agent knew it. He was reported saying he was wanting to join us before then.

It is what it is. However we don’t want another Michael Owen situation on our hands.

You’ll generally do better as a team pound for pound signing players keen to join. Look at the last 4 yrs.

Tricky not deviate in our position and gamble occasionally to make that next step with a player in high demand but don’t lose sleep over it if not meant to be. Always other players out there. Just got to scout them quicker.

Power Play = Enquire about #1 target. Get told to fuck off. Move onto #2 target who just so happens to also be a target for the club of #1 target. Pay over the release clause so that rival club can't have your #2 target as back up to your #1 target. Leave yourself short of funds to acquire #1 target in the short term.

Not that we know of.

If Liverpool 'really' want Isak - if they buy Hugo now it blocks any future move for him

Hugo has bags of potential but he's no Isak.  I think this is Liverpool just puffing their chest.

Ekitike at frankfurt is as good as Isak at Sociedad imo

Main difference is Isak has proven it in the prem.

Ekitike is waiting for

@LFC

Newcastle isn't his priority. Since the end of last season, Liverpool has been his preferred option. He himself would even stay until winter if nothing suitable comes along. #SGE

There was one earlier saying he'll either move to us or noone. It's all bollocks. I'm fairly sure Isak stays but whether we sign him or not remains to be seen.
