Bimpy474
I've no doubt we'll go in again for him if he does become available, we're looking at the most promising youngsters and he seemed right near the top of our list. It's a squad game and you improve as players become available and while it maybe harsh, you take out Wood or Murphy (depending on where they see this lads position) and this lad or a player similar comes in. We're fourth in the league and on the up. We're not desperate any more. We don't need to keep going back in for this one kid over and over again who hasn't even done anything that special in his career. There are many more players out there and with Ashworth in charge we'll find them.

We're still doing small steps (quite rightly) and if they see this lad as a big talent as he grows, i just think we'll be back in for him. I guess it depends on how highly they rate him. gbandit
Got his first PSG goal today. Will be interesting to see how he progresses and also where Newcastle and PSG are at respectively in five and ten years
The College Dropout
By the looks of it he’s barely played. He might as well return to the team he came from to get match experience.

He had a full season last year and did well, I don't think training with Neymar, Messi & Mbappe will have stunted his progress in any way at all. Similar scenario to Anderson here this season. No obligation which was the surprising bit as his parent club were OK with that compared to the cash offer we made. Apparently keeping the player happy was the motivation, lose lose scenario for them though.
elbee909
I'd be very surprised if it turns out Reims didn't receive some compensation already, not that we'll ever know about it
SAK
A loan fee possibly but if he does poorly then PSG send him back as no obligation. Who else will offer what we did then? He either rebuilds his career or fades away. Deal was a big risk for Reims and the player.

A few games per year at PSG isn’t going to do that.

They will be scaling back after the WC and need to get near self sufficient so they can sell the club in the next couple of years. They've thrown everything they can at it to deliver the CL before the WC and failed, they couldn't allow Mbappe to walk for free just before it, so offered him the earth, even though a lot of it was lies. It'll be a very different psg from 23/24 and by the end of the decade just another team in France.

Guest
Don't want. There's not a single player that's reportedly turned us down for someone else, I've seen and thought 'man I wish we had signed them'.

Remove all their fake sponsors and fake actors, their global presence disappears. No one cares about the French league to keep supporting them for the content. I don’t agree or think that’s true. after 10 years of our ownership investing properly into the club and it’s infrastructure we wont go back to being ‘just another PL club’. Success compounds. Infrastructure is setup and it attracts people with more wealth.

All it takes is some arsehole new owner to come in and gut it all out for quick profit.

Liverpool commercial revenue is now close to Manchester United is it not? They are as financial powerful as most other European powerhouses - way beyond Arsenal who they were once behind in every way. Even Anfield’s capacity has been increased. As a club Liverpool are a much bigger club now than the ones FSG bought. And they are primed for more success. Manchester United have terrible Ownership but qualify for the CL more times than not. And have had the 4th best trophy haul in England since SAF retired. Behind Liverpool and 2 oil clubs.

You are comparing teams in the best league in the world with 7 or 8 top teams, to a feeder league with 1 anomaly which is down to money and that money is about to walk. Theyll stay the biggest team in France...who cares?

Few people outside of France give half a shite about Ligue 1 - PSG will drop off the radar after the WC, when their use to Qatar diminishes. It’s incredible how many great players France produces when it’s not particularly well supported over there - PSG is the only ‘big’ club in Paris, and has always struggled to fill the Parc des Princes. It just isn’t a big footballing city. Lyon - the dominant side in France previously - aren’t exactly a massive attraction globally.
