He gives it away because he's trying to create space tbf, today he got isolated by the Arsenal pack too many times, think he could have done with better support from others around him. Although no excuse for the goal, that was just a really bad touch, and an equally bad foul following it.
Gallowgate Toon
I do think our centre mids have been hung out to dry a bit with the January window, looking back, considering how we play the game at such intensity. Obviously, we've still done so well but there's been so few options to rotate that fatigue, whether mental or physical, has crept in a few times in the second half of the season. aussiemag
Would it be worth giving Anderson a run in the Longstaff role. He seems to have a good engine. Middle 3 of Anderson, Bruno and Willock. Front 3 of Joelinton, Isak, Almiron

He might be wrong and you might be right though. he played just as many games last season in the position he is in now as he did further forward. Guest reefatoon
Just looked back through and from his full debut v Southampton, he played 6 games without Shelvey where he was the deeper player and 5 with Shelvey. So he was class playing in the role he is now.

That was my concern at the time. Not buying Gordon. Just only buying Gordon. The squad has been a quality midfielder short all season. Bruno has been playing injured since Fulham. Viana
It’s a lot to put on one man, and one man can have bad games. His mentality and response to those games has me confident he’ll bounce back.
TheBrownBottle
The only real worry to me re Bruno is that he seems to have forgotten how to shoot. He hasn’t scored in six months and some of the efforts he’s producing are simply shite. His ability to retain the ball while drawing players in usually creates space in midfield or draws fouls - though against the very best sides that is fraught with danger, and I suspect a lot of teams have now worked out some elements of dealing with him in that regard - he was making similar errors in retaining the ball too long against Southampton last week (and has for some time). The lad is likely knackered and a bit out of form tbf. Ideally we’d rest him for a game or two - but of course we don’t yet have the squad depth. I also think that the Willock-Bruno-Joelinton midfield is repeatedly being shown not to be our most effective - Longstaff plays such an important role in there. I do think his ankle has been hampering him, he looks like he’s lost some pace since the injury. That’s not an excuse for today but possibly a contributing factor. He just made too many mistakes in possession today but I think we badly suffered from Longstaffs absence and it highlights the need for a number 6 type player or another option to Longstaff. Viana
Worth remembering we have counted on Jack Colback and Jeff Hendrick as midfielders. This lad can have a bad game.
Guest
Think if we could sign someone like Rice (pipe dream) to go alongside Joelinton as our main press, it could help protect Bruno in the deeper role dictating play without having to use as much energy. Get him doing what he does best.
nufcnick
You guys have to remember, he’s basically running around on 1 leg and needs an ankle operation. I really don’t think he’s doing that bad considering the circumstances

Coffee_Johnny
Ah well, guess we won’t have to worry so much about Madrid coming knocking this summer. As phenomenal as he has been, is there a game against the very top teams where he has dominated/played a blinder?
KaKa
Ha! So Bruno isn't good enough to play against the top teams now, yeah?! Man, the fickle nature of of "supporters". Anyway ... tough game for Bruno yesterday, and a harsh lesson learned going up against teams that press aggressively. Have to be more disciplined and not dwell on the ball unnecessarily. This is something that he can get away with against most teams in the league the majority of the time, but he just needs to learn to make the necessary adjustment against this type of opposition. A big part of him being the excellent player he is, is his willingness to receive the ball in tight areas, and not rush things in those instances, however, against certain teams he needs to keep things simpler and move the ball on quicker in order to beat the press. Arsenal I thought, clearly targeted him specifically to cut off our build up play from the back, and he should have clocked onto that, and moved the ball quicker to get the better of them. He'll be fine. No doubt about it.

Didnt have to be a primary target. All we needed was some cover for when Bruno is injured/suspended/out of form. Right now we have nothing to replace him with. Maybe they thought it wasnt worth it if they have set their sight on a permanent replacement in the summer (moving Bruno further up the field). I guess we would be too stacked in sentral midfield then. Could have gotten a loanee though. Edited May 8, 2023 by Displayname

I am also just as free to be disgusted with some of the reactions and comments, and also free to bitch and complain about those reactions however I want. So please give it a rest.
