Absolutely no chance we sell that many important players. It'll be Tino and maybe Tonali, but not both full backs and both important central midfielders. It would completely destroy us.

We have to look at the right wing, goalkeeper and striker positions before anyone is sold. Players who are likely heading out the door such as Tripps and Willock will need replacing too. If we add replacing several key players to that load we'll be in serious trouble of massive regression come the start of the season.

Aye that's what I said after the part you quoted tbf :) I think Tino/Tonali combo is what we're facing. The agedness of our defence is a big concern though.

Hope Shahar and Neave start getting minutes and look a fret so they can be squad players without splurging on transfers come next season...(doubt).

He'd been here 18 months at that point and wasn't captain etc along with being the player most likely to generate a big fee. it would still have been a stupid decision but his standing at the club has improved (from a very high position anyway) since then

If they were able to get it that badly wrong back then (and I believe any alternative sale would have been preferable), I think they can easily miscalculate again in the exact same way. Especially regarding a "depreciating asset".

There is no point catastrophizing but I definitely wouldn't rule out this report being true - as much as I want it not to be.

Bruno leaving to Man U would break something in me that I don't think I could ever repair. I already low-key hate this sport.

Already dreading this summer tbh.

I'm looking forward to it. Think it will all be very telling on what direction things are heading in with the club.

I think provided we can avoid selling any of the main players to any prem teams (although I could probably even deal with them going to Man City) then I really don't care about what changes are made.

I know Bruno is a great ambassador of this club and has a strong connection with the fanbase, but I agree this needs to be said

That sadly though, isn't what being a football fan is all about.
The club is in our blood and by association, so are the players.

You can't easily separate them. Especially at the moment when so many of them, if not all of them, are so likeable.

I don’t get to attached to individual players, having lived through Waddle, Beardsley, Gazza and Carroll.

Bruno though? I’m half expecting Gordon and some others to happily jump ship but…

’Et tu, Bruno?’

No, it can’t happen.

Not about worship its about someone that has taken on the mantle of soul of the club for this gen. Not interested in balance sheets, I like sports. This guy gets it, and I'd rather win with him than sell him to win. Sick of needing to be an accountant and a lawyer to enjoy fucking sports.

Grim. For anyone who hasn't clicked it:

- Tonali likely out for 8 weeks

- Wissa has caused friction in the camp after leaving the pitch at FT on Saturday without acknowledging the fans

- Hierarchy 'panicking' and trying to tie Bruno down to a new deal before we potentially miss out on Europe next season

Yeah. I’m sure Steve Bruce would have gotten us to a knockout tie vs Barcelona

Is that not called 'tapping up'?  The bloke is irreplaceable - PIF need to break the bank to try and keep him
