Can an argument be made that Man U trades on its legacy to make a better spin on the reality of the here and now? Absolutely.

And howeh, I didn't say nobody wants to join them. I explicitly pointed out that for some players I see the appeal, I just don't see it for Bruno (our Bruno, not yours).

Without sounding pompous, you don't see a situation where Bruno might want to play for us over Newcastle, especially in a scenario where we're in the Champions League and you're not?

The fact that someone (regardless of who it is) who had earned as much in a couple of years as I would in 10 lifetimes might need a “last big payday” tells you all you need to know about the sad state of modern football.

Man U supporting brother already gloating about the prospect of this, so would be absolutely sickening if this happened

Him leaving in general would be awful but if it has to happen then let it be abroad

I agree. Your brother should leave the country.

We've finished 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 8th, 15th (:anguish:) and are currently in 3rd.

In that period we've won two FA Cups, two League Cups and the Europa League. Two more Europa League finals as well.

Just think it's a bit silly to suggest that's a legacy club that nobody would want to join. But yes, also we aware we pay good money too.

You're absolutely correct here, unfortunately.

I hate Man Utd as much as the next man, but they're one of the biggest clubs in the world (personally I'd say Real is bigger) and they'll always be a big draw. That won't change for the foreseeable.

I don't think Bruno would go there though, my fear is he'll leave for Real, if they really want him.

That used to be a valid argument. Now they need to play a couple of seasons in the PL and they're set for life.

I think he's class but I actually hope we don't sign him. I'd be walking on eggshells on here.

Call me naive, and maybe even childish but where I could see tonali going to another English club, I honestly couldn't see Bruno going to man utd, city or any one else in the PL he genuinely loves the club, city and fans and I would be dumb founded if he went to man Utd despite the fact  they'll be in  the CL etc... if he's going anywhere it would be in Europe surely ? Would destroy me seeing him playing with man utd

He’s already played Champions League football so if he wanted to go for that reason it would be to a club that would be likely to win it - so not Man U then.

Some moves you can begrudge and understand, but if the choice was to remain a legend here or become a nobody overshadowed by the class of 92, Ronaldo and ownership headlines, I know which one any sane person would choose.

Actually, the majority of people would go with the move. That is the more typical mindset, and its no different than the 'Glory hunter' attitude of most fans that aren't tied to a particular area when it comes to following or supporting a team. These kind of people will never understand the point you're making.

Personally, I think it's mental that after what Bruno has given to Newcastle and the level of importance he has meant to the team and the area, that he could even join another Prem team, never mind go there and play with the same sort of fire, with all the badge kissing and carrying on to boot. It would be absolutely comical.

Personally, I couldn't ever imagine doing that. From what we've seen of Bruno throughout his time here I don't see that in him at all really. Definitely wouldn't begrudge him a move, but with the interest and options he'll have, the obvious step would be to join a top club abroad.

I guess we'll soon find out.

Nah, I get where you're coming from. But I think for his personality type he would rather be seen as a 'legend' here than as another face in the crowd there, even if he did get to play a few Champions League games before going out in the knockout rounds.

Aye, I should be clear I was making that point specifically about Bruno. I know the typical mindset is 'move over improve' or 'get more money'.

I think a player and character like Bruno G would be received incredibly well at us and he'd have every opportunity to become a legend at Old Trafford. I don't get the viewpoint that he be just another player.

It's not happening for the money being talked about anyway.

Need to stop pissing our pants, he's going absolutely nowhere, CL or not.

Loves the club, area, and more importantly the fans.

I do wish cunts like Romano and Ornstein were fired into orbit mind. Can't stand all the shit stirring, and it's not even April yet.

Expecting Bruno back after the break.

But it was on twitter yesterday so it must have been true!

Would Bruno leave for 1 season in the CL with manchesters second club?  Chances are they’ll not qualify next season on league position with the amount of games they’ll play.
I say an unlikely move.
