Lush Vlad
I’ve thought I’ve ruined my ankle ligament before. Swollen up for a couple of days, struggling to walk and then fine after a week. But I also didn’t realise I’d ruptured my ACL. So fuck knows
nufcjmc
Big blow especially as its now so tight at the top as losing influential players can be the difference maker on final league positions. Also and possibly more importantly Who gonna give Joe a lift in now.

Did my dissertation on ATFL tears. They’re an absolute bitch of an injury I’m afraid.

duo
Was daft keeping him on - he was limping most the 1st half afterwards.

He was never going to be able to run it off. Edited January 15, 2023 by Jackie Broon

Really dont think he could play out the rest of the half if it was the bad kind. Adrenaline and a desire to keep playing would have carried him for a bit. He knew he was done before the half even ended, which is worrying.

La Parka
I tore my tp? tendon and I couldn't run on it for nearly a year without pain and weaknesses. Basically couldn't walk on it for 6 weeks. Hope Bruno heals better than me ? Edited January 15, 2023 by La Parka
TheGuv
Definitely a minimum grade 2 ATFL tear. Praying there’s no other tears in there as well, as that’s when it can becoming pretty bad. Ankles are a right bitch to heal as well.
gbandit
Yup, ankles are disgusting, such little blood flow to heal up
Newcastle Fan
The minute he started limping when the ball was passed to him we should've taken him off, he was brave to play that full half but i hope it didn't mean he aggravated the injury, these take time to recover and i really hope it's not as bad as it looks. SUPERTOON
I’ve done a similar thing to my ankle on a few occasions, anywhere from 2-6 weeks would be my guess.
Klaus
I've rolled my ankles playing football a few times. Bruno's foot will be purple and twice the size tomorrow, based on my experience Edited January 15, 2023 by Klaus

Keegans Export
Can't read anything into the pictures or the protective boot. Until they do a scan to assess the damage it could be anywhere from a week or two to 3+ months.

Tsunami
His foot didn’t get planted so when he rolled it his foot could move with him. That freeze frame doesn’t look good but it’s amazing what you can get away with without too much of an injury. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Use this as a discussion with the owners to get a midfielder in. I know you can’t really see but on the team photo after the match the strapping didn’t appear to suggest a huge amount of swelling and that’s say an hour or more afterwards. Wishful thinking perhaps. Yeah, it looked at the time that he should have gone off much earlier. Eddie said that he tends to rely on the player's judgement, but that can't always be the right call. Unless a player can shake a knock off fairly quickly (and Bruno's mobility was obviously impaired for the rest of the half), then he should go.
