As boring as it is I think giving up that free kick isn't necessarily a bad thing. Always takes two minutes to set up everything and freekick goals are just so rare nowadays with the free jumping walls and massive Nick Pope in goal. Honestly rather give them that freekick than getting constant balls played into the box for those two minutes. Wouldn't be surprised if soon some team's analytics experts actually started to suggest hacking down people around the box in these situations.
