This "WE ARE THE CITY BY THE SEA" thing they are pushing is absolutely awful.

Sunderland has never, ever, in history ever been known as "the city by the sea", by anyone.

They are so desperate to create some kind of positive identity.

Sunderland does have plenty of identity but all of it is negative.

There's only Kevin Phillips that would be in contention to be in a combined XI.

Phillips would be lucky to get in the match day squad. There’s not a single Sunderland player who’d you start. That’s not being biased, we’ve just had better players, a quick look at the tables tells its own story.

Aye I know. Just saying he's the only one who would have any contention.

Used to go on work duties before I retired not a pretty place but all the people I met were first class working class and as honest as they come.

No disrespect to the people of Wolverhampton at all...  I was mainly around the Rail Station area and I can honestly say that it did not feel like I was surrounded by salt of the earth type characters....  I suppose you could say that about the areas of many UK (and European) cities surrounding the main railway station though....  After dark it was actually quite scary....

If you go down the bottom of Chester road today you'll find immigration is alive and kicking in Sunderland

If you changed that to immigrants being kicked in Sunderland to the point where they are barely alive it would sound more apt.

Seb Larsson and Asamoah Gyan over Rob Lee and Peter Beardsley. That's without going into Ginola replacing Cabaye in centre midfield and Johnson...

What a cock sucking cuckold. The state of a NUFC posting those teams.

I've got no problem with them trying to create an identity but there's quite a few UK cities with actual beaches - They're not THE city by the sea.

We actually have a pretty decent shout with Tynemouth and Whitley Bay's beautiful sandy beaches, which any sensible person and even the occasional sane mackem realises are part of the greater Tyneside/Newcastle area

Les Ferdinand ahead of him in every metric

Agree and Phillips would be best placed as the foil for the “target” man. In that role, Beardsley is out on his own. It’s as though they’ve not watched the likes of Rob Lee play.

They pretty much agree that Lee Clark was absolutely fantastic for them, he was better for us but had to move to get game time as he had Lee & Batty ahead of him. There’s another one; Batty, a better player in the role he played than Sunderland have had in the Premier League.

Absolutely Tyneside is basically one huge conurbation, with a beautiful coastline and the vibrant regional capital as our City.

You just need to listen to their Sam Fender North Shields patter to realise their complete state of denial and ignorance.

The meltdown on that Geordie mag myth thread is perfect reading. Mackem cunts desperate now to be referred to as Geordies

All of their memorable moments they mention are against us, or lower lights in pizza cup finals etc. it’s a cliche but we really are their cup final. What they would give for a Barca, 5-0 man united, psg or league cup final win etc.

Absolute desperation causing their usual bullshit and lies because they can't handle the truth. Geordie was used as a term for TYNESIDE people as a result of either Newcastle natives fighting for KIng George 1 against the Jacobite uprising (most likely reason) or from the lamp created by George Stephenson (too late for me to be the reason). It certainly got fuck all to do with Monkwearmouth that's for sure [emoji38]

It’s weird because the first paragraph  is true, then it goes on a mental tangent :) - ‘Mackem’ absolutely was an insult

I doubt there’s many Durham mags class themselves as Mackems, can’t even see any NUFC fans from Washington (lets not forget part of chicken town) who would claim to be a mackem.

It’s definitely seen as an insult, no wonder their Tyneside and Northumberland based fans(always weird cunts in my limited experience), have an identity crisis and are desperate to disassociate themselves.

Be interesting to see their response to the Elanga signing or sining as they write it in their never-went-to-school language

Guaranteed he'll be labelled as "shit" and "overpriced" by the usual morons (most of them)
