It's not so much that, it's fact it has 'Newcastle' in the name that gets to them, hence all the "Its in Pontelyand, marra" Bullshit, and us being accused of just hoying our city name on it when their council allegedly owns 1% more than ours.

Newcastle Airport is actually further into Northumberland than even Newcastle. It's on our side of the Tyne Bridge.

Why don't they build an airport on fucking Wearside if it burns them that much? There's plenty of wastelands between them and Middlesbrough surely?

Speculate to accumulate and pay for it later essentially.

Aye pretty much what we did post takeover spend to survive and worry about it later

Regardless of it being Sunderland, it’s good to see promoted clubs giving it a go rather than do a Norwich. Whether it’s enough, time will tell, but it’s a good season to give it a shot given what Brentford have done.

Been there this morning for girl 2's graduation and for all there's not much in it capacity wise it looks small. Also the uni are moving its graduations from there due to costs (£30 a head for family).

The stewards were gammony old men with no personal skills who seemed to think families at a graduation were away fans.

Hey ho, sat in a pub over there merrily reading through the Sunderland thread before heading  back to the campus for part 2 (She's a clever lass and has been nominated for another couple of awards)

'Keiths' could be the new collective term for Sunderland fans.

For example:

"I heard the Keiths booing their team off the pitch on Match of the Day last night"

Don't do it don't do it don't do it... Fuck it...

They're doing exactly what I expected them to, basically same as their lower league moneyball model but with more scope to attract players and at a higher price point.

All in that 20-23 bracket. I said when they got promoted they'd basically go at a Brighton/Brentford approach and I think there's an outside chance it works for them tbh. Their recruitment has genuinely been very good (for the way they operate) over the last three years.

I still think they will need to sign some experienced players. They're giving it a go but I'm not sure it'll be nearly enough. The main motive for these signings will be that a couple of them perform well enough to warrant another club paying double the price in a year or two. Can't blame them for that.

I can't see which of the 17 will be shite enough for any of the 3 promoted sides to stay up. Perhaps Brentford but even without Norgaard & Mbuemo, they're still streets ahead of the promoted 3. It's shite really, but it's the way that it is now.

They will be looking forward to the Championship again, this time next year. Looking forward to seeing their meltdown and demanding that the manager is sacked not long into the coming season (they already were doing it last season). They are in for a big big shock come August. I see Teddy the coward is floating about

Honest question.

Why do you keep saying Teddy is a coward?

Because he disappears when he starts getting stick or when his team are not doing well and then reappears again once there is some perceived positive news or results. When he first signed up, he also said he took no notice of RTG, then dropped himself in it when he started going on about Sima. He then conveniently ignored requests to give his username on there
