Burnley 1-2 Newcastle United (22/05/2022)

Recommended Posts

Really enjoyed it when Ayew scored the 2nd goal and it looked like it would be Everton going down, but at least they have some fight and seemed to care a bit about staying up. Happy to send Burnley down today. The one gameplan is fouling or diving and kicking it up to Ashley Barnes who is such a wanker.

We were pretty bad, and its clear that we need better quality in the frontline around Wilson, we should have had at least 2 more goals on the counter and it should have been over at 60 minutes. However missing Joelinton for a scrap like this was a bit of a blow, our tiny wingers just got bullied and we had a ref who basically ignored the rules all game. That foul when their centreback jumped into wood and bounced back was hilarious.

Special mention to the referee though. He didnt have any major situations to screw up, but a prime example of a ref letting a violent team just do what they want for 90 minutes. Happens so often and there will be no consequenses for it, and it will happen many times next season.

Really, really good season and I can't wait for the next one!

Shove it down your fat gob, you cunt. Eddie Howe surpassed it, in half a season.

:memelol:

Howe turned largely Bruce's squad into a competent team overnight.

Dubravka - 7.5

Trippier - 7.5

Lascelles - 7.5

Burn - 7

Targett - 8

Longstaff - 7.5

Murphy - 7

Bruno - 7.5

ASM - 7.5

Almiron - 7

Wilson - 7.5

No bad performance out there really, just thought Targett was slightly better than everyone else

Generous imo.

He makes so many bad decisions in the final third. Such a frustrating player.

Thought there were a few strange performances out there. Almiron and Bruno in particular seemed to jolt from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Targett and Longstaff both stood out.

Another fantastic to win, like. Get in there, can't wait for next season to see what we can achieve.

Howes wrote more in a pamphlet than Bruce could in a book. What Howe has achieved at Bournemouth and here is the thing Bruce could only dream of.

He wouldn't dream of it though that's the difference. He'd be looking for excuses from day one.

Love how he is nothing spectacular, but puts in a consistent 7 out of 10 display every week. Gutted if we don't keep him on.

It’s about consistency- you say he puts in a 7 out of ten every game but you can’t spell consistency without ten ?

Glad Leeds stayed up rather than Burnley. Atleast Leeds bring something to the matches they have against some of the other clubs. Think all of Burnley matches against whoever is a turn off.

hoping for Forest to win in the playoff final now. Rather them than Huddersfield.

We were really good up to their goal, played much the better football and clearly were the better side. Should probably have scored 3 or 4; Almiron not squaring the ball, Maxi missing his 1v1, Bruno slipping over at the last. We dealt with the onslaught really well and the bottom line is that under Howe we're a good side. Bruno had a bit of an off day but would pop up with a great pass or tackle to relieve pressure in the second half. Ah well. Great way to end a truly mental, great season. Up the fucking mags.
