Len White Man, again such an underrated footballer. Many older generation fans reckon he was better than Wor Jackie and one of our best ever.

We’ve had some great players play for us over the years and throughout our history we’ve always had great goalscorers, up until recently that is.

Back to White, his stats are insane.

My dad saw White and Milburn regularly and has no doubt that White was the better, more complete player. Another omission is Shack; he may be a Sunderland legend and he held a massive grudge against us but he was something else by all accounts. My dad reckons he was phenomenal, far too greedy to be considered a team player but for individual skill and ability he was untouchable.

How privalaged is your dad to see those greats...

Aye Len Shackleton was a great player, a showman. I used to have his book and one chapter was about chairman and what they know about the game and it’s blank

By far one of my fave players from our history is Albert Shepherd, a 16 stone something brute of a CF who defenders,  ‘keepers and referees feared, he would bundle, man, ‘keeper and ball into the net from corners or crosses and got away with it.

Another great CF for us was Jack Allen, a Geordie, but he was remembered more for winning back to back titles with Sheff Wed.

Notwithstanding the fact they arrived a week later than scheduled last time, Premier League fixture alterations for live TV transmission in February are expected to be announced tomorrow (Tuesday 12th).

A trio of NUFC fixtures are "at risk" this time round:

Crystal Palace (a) currently Sat 03.02.2018

Manchester United (h) currently Sat 10.02.2018

Bournemouth (a) currently Sat 24.02.2018

Ten out of United's 16 Premier League games so far this season have been shown live either by Sky or BT, with another two scheduled during the next nine fixtures announced until the end of January 2018.

Manchester United (h) will definitely be moved. Wonder if they'll complete the south coast trio and shift Bournemouth (a) to a ridiculous time as well.

Just watched highlights of the 4-2 win over Everton in 2004.

Noticed on Dyer’s goal Shearer didn’t celebrate. Then Shearer scores the 3rd and 4th and both times just one player came over and gave a high five.

What was happening behind the scenes then?

When do the March TV games get announced? In particular Spurs away.

It’s FA Cup 6th Round weekend so might get moved (if Spurs get that far!)!

Maybe we'll get there.... :shifty:
