It's like he's doing a parody of how bad Nick Pope is on the ball Yes, but he wasn't punished as hard, as teams weren't putting the same pressure on him then as they do now + we were set up much more defensive. The College Dropout
Nah he’s lost a bit of confidence since that Salah red. He was bad but not this bad. His shot stopping stats have regressed which is most alarming.
kingxlnc
Honestly wouldn’t mind giving Vlad a go at this point. Might surprise us

Paully
Dubs didn’t deserve to be dropped -Pope looks all over the shop and his kicking has somehow got worse! Eddie has dug himself into a hole
Sibierski
Pope needs to be dropped so we can get a fee in the summer. More he plays, the less clubs will want him as they’ll be seeing the current version and not the one of past 6 years.

You mean like Longstaff? And Almiron? And Trippier? Them so called "Favourites" that are obviously playing all the time.
Weezertron
If Pope is starter for the rest of the season, coaches should be/will be ordering their players to shoot at any given opportunity to Popes left.
Lush Vlad
When Dubravka comes back in. They should order their players to shoot to his right.

KennyUtd
Mad how you can play football every day for years and still not be able to kick a ball properly. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Nick Pope.

To be fair, it took months of them underperforming to finally lose their automatic place in the team.
joeyt
The defence and crowd have absolutely no confidence in him. I'm not sure what we're gaining playing him at the moment
duo
I get don't get the decision to play him over Dubs - could understand if he's had a stinker but you can't blame him for our loss at City Edited February 27 by duo

Geogaddi Posted Thursday at 22:18 Share Posted Thursday at 22:18 (edited) He's regressed massively but still far better than Dubravka , either way Trafford will be our number one next season and be better than both of them, until then we just have to make do with Pooe who is still levels above Dubravka. et tu brute Posted Friday at 11:55 Share Posted Friday at 11:55 Up to that Liverpool game, I wouldn't have swapped him for any keeper he was that outstanding. His form dipped a little on his return, but imo that shoulder injury against Man U has seen him lose a lot of confidence and dare I say it hesitation. He used to catch just about everything before that injury, whereas he looks vulnerable now and more often than not prefers to punch. Maybe he needs a long stretch of games, but the position where in, we just can't take the chance, especially when you consider his distribution, which was never the best, but has went right to pot since the before mentioned Liverpool game. That is definitely confidence knowing he's under big scrutiny on that front. By the way I'm nowhere near 100% confident in Dubravka either, but he was a part of the 9 game winning run; and his distribution is far better than Pope and I believe the defence are more confident of receiving and giving the ball when Dubravka in between the posts

I respectfully disagree, I don't think we can seriously aspire to be a champions league level side and have a very regressed Pope and a bang average Dubravka as our main two, I think a top quality keeper is just as important to us as a new right winger with CB being absolutely imperative.
