His saves were incredible, we got humiliated and it would have been like 5-0 without his saves. I firmly believe he's our best ever goalkeeper and the rest of the team let him down massively. How about the midfield pass the ball a bit for a change. Pope has been incredible and won us our first trophy in 60 years.

I don't think they were "incredible". The low save from Eze shot was great, and maybe Timber header. Others I would say a GK is expected to make. One of his best abilities is that he pushes the balls out of the danger area very well.

Yes his saves were pivotal to keeping us in the game but ultimately we lost the game due to the fact he can’t kick a ball. These accurate pass and long ball stats are nowhere near good enough for a Premier League goalkeeper.

What were rayas stats?

                        Pope

                          o

                     Gyokeres

Thiaw                                           Botman

Excuse the amazing graphic, but when Pope has the ball like this, Arsenal end up with possession on the halfway line 5 seconds later.

His shot stopping has been outstanding this season, so it's a hard choice to make, but I do hope Ramsdale gets an opportunity and surprises us.

Frustrating yesterday as Pope cost us a point but then again who knows if Ramsdale would have made the saves Pope did.

He just slows things down at the back so much and you can sense the nerves of everyone, fans and players a like when he is under any kind of pressure with the ball at his feet.

I doubt it will happen but would like to see Ramsdale get a chance on Wednesday.

Those stats are mainly because he passes long though, surely? That in itself is because he's poor on the ball, but no keeper who mainly plays long passes will complete most of them. It's a very low-percentage way to play.

I don't disagree but I do think the nerves of the fans are way too exaggerated. He rarely ever makes a serious error.

The more important thing is if we want to become a team that controls the ball more, we need a keeper that doesn't have to play so many long balls.

As the game wore on yesterday I just wanted him to twat it as long as possible, there were a couple that skewed up into the air.

But I think we could have seen the game out better had we more control at the back and that would need a keeper who is comfortable with his feet.

My worry with Ramsdale is that he is probably nowhere near the shot stopper that Pope is (well that's how I perceive it anyway) admittedly I have not watch Ramsdale extensively over the years.

When Tino was down Pope went up to Elanga and had a chat with him,  presumably telling him that when he caught the ball he was going to release it straight to Elanga to run onto

It sort of worked once when Mykes-Skelly somehow didn't get a yellow card. Got completely carried away for the second one

I watched the game and was impressed with him for the most part. Think he just had a rush of blood at the end when trying to kick it, and then was very weak for their winner.

Has he been your number 1 this season? I assumed Ramsdale would have been.

The Timber one was a great save, the Ezee low shot was a save most keepers in the prem are not saving.

He has the shirt (or vest as someone keeps calling it 😂) and will keep it given his form (in general) dips. Take your point re winner, but he was very forcibly (cleverly/sneakily) blocked by Saliba when coming for the ball.

The save low to Eze was elite, but the rest were saves that id expect any half decent prem keeper to save.

The Eze and Timber ones were very good. The rest were routine.

It was more than that though. He was brilliant commanding his area again and bar his kicking, which is always shit. He was comfortably our MOTM for 93-94 minutes or whatever it was.

That rush of blood at the end has cost us a point. From the ill advised kick instead of throwing it. To then trying too hard to make amends coming for the ball when it wasn’t really on against dark arts set piece FC.

Sidenote. Arsenal blatantly foul at every setpiece in both boxes. Burn getting his shirt ripped off every time. Their runners stepping back onside blocking defenders with no intention of playing the ball. A blocker on the keeper every corner who doesn’t even look at the ball.

Clubs need to make more of it to PGMOL and highlight how blatant it is. Or they’ll just keep doing it until they’re stopped. They have every right to if they’re

not going to get pinged for it. So why wouldn’t they.

When their players can blatantly punch and handball I don’t think they’ll be stopping this in a hurry.
