Abacus
I'm not one to slate players and I still think Pope is a good keeper. They can always have a howler, it's the nature of it. However, I don't think he's been quite right since that shoulder injury and either way he's a weak link right now in a few ways. It can't give the rest of the team, or him, much confidence and his must be through the floor tonight. Give Ramsdale a run for a bit now.
nufc123
Dont rate Ramsdale, but there is enough justification to drop Pope now.
Ronaldo
Cost us the game. Fed up of him now. He gets relentlessly praised (by fans in the stands and a couple of old nutters on here) for making the most basic saves going while giving us nothing that the top keepers do, namely confidence, calmness and reliability. Enough’s enough now.

Thought he could have stood up better for the second as well. Yes he has to guess a bit at that distance but you stand up not drop down. May well have gone in regardless but still the wrong move. Writing was on the wall in the Liverpool game, the pre shoulder injury Pope saves 2 of those goals, yes they would have been incredible stops but that was his strong point
Keefaz
Looked like he'd actually gone mad. Just running out and shouting. Very odd.
Scoot
This bloke can not give the defenders in front of him any confidence in their keeper. Cost us that game tonight with that horrific error. Add to that, its heart in mouth every time he has the ball at his feet and it doesn't breed confidence in the slightest. Cant get over that error tonight. Its proper school boy stuff that. What on earth was he thinking there?
Sima
More of a calamity than his error at Parkhead. Quite impressive, really.
pubteam
The thing I dislike about Eddie is some players have a protected status. Pope not only ruins our build up play he makes stupid mistakes. I’m struggling to see what he brings to the team.

But prior to then, he hadn't done too much wrong this season, and it seemed having another 'England keeper' on the bench might be making him up his game. But his recent decision making is costing us goals, games and points. Ramsdale has done little wrong in the matches he's played. Albeit against weaker opposition, but still, deserves a chance now, and must start to question why he's here if he doesn't get one soon, given Pope's errors. LiquidAK
He's been great for us in the main, love him for his part in winning the cup, but I don't want to see him in a starting line up any time soon. Give Ramsdale a long run in the side. Completely turned the game on it's head, total head-loss. So frustrating.
Bimpy474
I love Pope, but he's killing us in games with the mistakes. Eddie has to see what we all are, and it's not like we don't have a very very good GK on the bench.

He shouldn’t be starting for us based on his inability to kick the ball. Confidence starts from the back and he restricts us so much

Arsenal's second goal Brighton's second goal West Ham first goal West Ham third goal Brentford first goal Marseille first goal 6 goals this season that have come from his mistakes. And that's not a "could he have saved it" type argument where you question the shot stopping, these are all positioning, rushing out, poor distribution or that fucking obsession with punching crosses. Ramsdale must be absolutely chod if he can't force his way in now. He may as well be Ruddy or Gillespie just with better wages.
Whitley mag
Liability at this point and got very lucky on Saturday as well. Ramsdale has a mistake in him but can’t be any worse than this cunt at the minute.

The decision to keep him in is costing us a proper run at the top 6 and now a top 8 finish here. The change has to be made at Everton or I'll be looking at Howe thinking what the fuck are you playing at.
Moose
I don't usually like joining a pile on but if not on a night like tonight then when? I'm absolutley done with this blockhead. Yes, he made some good saves tonight but so would any competent GK. These dumb mistakes are happening far too often and with complete impunity as he is inexplicably undroppable. Is Ramsdale better? Who knows? But ffs, let's at least give him a run of games and see what we've got in him! What the worst case scenario? He'll do well to drop a bigger clanger than the one tonight! Bizza
You'd think he would've learned to stop the sweeper keeper stuff after that red card in the LC Semi a couple of years ago, mind-boggling that he still hasn't.

I have no issues with the sweeper keeper thing. It is a big part of how we play and it has worked more than it hasn’t. When it doesn’t. Well…… it’s spectacularly bad You could see 10-20 yards away he wasn’t getting there. I know it’s high risk/high reward. But that was painful. Like watching a car crash in slow motion.
