Not if we had bought him when he was available instead of holding out for a goalie that never once showed any interest in coming to us. As for Pope, I didn't think he needed replaced before the season started. I was well fucking wrong. Now it's looking like a very stressful summer if we don't go on a miracle run to qualify for CL. We'll be needing a new keeper, several defenders, midfielders and at least one new striker, all of which will cost a premium. As much as I love Nick, he isn't suitable for Howe's one and only formation, so hopefully Bayern at the very least give us 80% of our money back. A massive 4-6 window squad overhaul is on the way. It's that serious now, we've simply got to get a better goalkeeper. It's arguably the most important signing we can make tbh; that and - annoyingly - probably CF assuming we cut our losses on at least one of the apparent mistakes from last summer.
