And when I’ve had 2 x ballot wins in 44 applications, of course I’m using multi browsers. If I didn’t I’ve paid £80 fee to go to 2 games in 2 seasons. The bloke who works in ticketing asked me at the ticketing workshop if I used multi browsers and I said definitely yes and explained why. I didn’t say I “followed process”. I know you support members, but not sure why you’re backing the club on this. You seem OK with many thousands of tickets being siphoned off, cos PSR. How will you feel if next season they decide to adjust the T’s & C’s to allow them to suspend season tickets for Cat A games because demand is expected to be so high. If you want to attend you have to apply with members. And NUFC won’t reveal how many tickets are available. It’d be amazing for PSR and keeping sponsors happy. Not backing the club but understand and not surprised what they’ve done. One thing I’ve not highlighted in previous posts is maybe it’s a bit of deliberate move for those wavering about not wanting to change ground whilst on the other hand another data grab by the club when planning it to see what the scope is. Was curious if they’ve found a way to detect those using multiple browsers and devices and that had played a part for those successful. Do we know anyone on here that was? (I’ve not heard of any). I dare say when some fans go down that route to gain tickets ahead of many fans who don’t there is a kind of moral kiosk for those taking a higher ground against the club though. Their approach for the Barcelona/Chelsea game will be interesting. Suspect not as as extreme. Edited February 26 by LFEE

Where are the rules that dictate what can / can't be done by a member when accessing the general sale queue ? I don't think I've seen them. The ticket buying process allows people to use multiple browsers, so people use multiple browsers. It's not a moral issue. When the ticketing employee asked me if I used multiple browsers I said yes and explained why. I didn't lie or refuse to answer. We've asked NUFC if they've reduced the number of tickets in general sale and they've refused to answer. I know I can use my match ticket on loads more turnstiles than the turnstile numbers indicated on my ticket, so I ignore those numbers, choose whichever turnstile has the shortest queue and go in. Some people don't have that knowledge, they follow the detail on their ticket and queue at the turnstile a lot longer than I have to. Is it morally wrong for me to access the ground in that way ? And to answer your question about who was successful, I think @HaydnNUFC might be the only person I know of that got a ticket via general sale. And that was because he had a low queue number but had to persist with F5ing after he got in and it was sold out. patrone
There's nothing at all in any terms to say you cant use multiple browsers, likewise there's nothing to say you can't create multiple accounts and have multiple memberships all linked. All we are doing is increasing the odds when it comes to the ballot or general sale queue. The club could easily have blocked this way of manipulating the odds, but for whatever reason they haven't. It's only fairly recently that memberships have been sold across the whole season with no restriction, so obviously people will try to find ways around this, that's just how the world works. I had 20 positions in for the mackem tickets, and lowest was nowhere close (around 6000 ish), BUT it was a half hearted effort on my part as I was only trying to get a ticket for a mate. For some games I've had over 60 positions and been in single figures at the front of the queue, yeh it's shit, but the club have allowed this to be the case. As for the amount of tickets, its fairly obvious that for V high demand games the amount of tickets available for "members only" to buy fluctuates, it's ridiculous to say otherwise
Slim
Quote Where are the rules that dictate what can / can't be done by a member when accessing the general sale queue ? I don't think I've seen them. Doubt there will be. They didn't even have T&C when membership came out Quote I know I can use my match ticket on loads more turnstiles than the turnstile numbers indicated on my ticket, so I ignore those numbers, choose whichever turnstile has the shortest queue and go in. Why would it be morally wrong FFS If they get people in faster that's all they care about. Not on you if people are not smart enough to use a bit of common sense. I do it all the time. I'm 100% on tickets on general sale

LFEE
So is the club in breach of any T&C’s regarding how many tickets they offer? Don’t believe so as no commitment ever made. They’ve got to do what they see as right at times which will affect some fans. No different to multiple browser users beating other fans to the tickets on previous games despite the club making it clear they are against and try to detect them (?) without feeling the need to insert it in their T&C’s. It’s an interesting one.

It’s an interesting one. I never said there was T's & C's about tickets being offered, that's why I was really clear to only say the club asked me if I used multi-browsers, I said yes. I asked the club if they'd changed tickets distribution for this game and they wouldn't answer the question. Of course neither of us has to tell either party anything. But it's a very basic level of customer service to be transparent with your existing customers if you're making major changes to a sales process. And what's your thoughts on me using any turnstile rather than the ones on my ticket ? The parallels are exactly the same as multi-browser. I'm interested to know if you think it's morally questionable. Edited February 26 by bobbydazzla

I'm interested to know if you think it's morally questionable. You asking my personal thoughts or as devil’s advocate? From my experience you are allowed to use a range of turnstiles usually in a group of 8 but the club allow the ticket to activate a turnstile as long as it’s in the correct stand. There is now staff helping people using the smallest queue/turnstiles because you officially can. They aren’t the same. That’s silly TBH. No one misses the game regardless of which turnstile used so no loss incurred. Would imagine those who only use single devices already in the ground well before you anyway with their packed lunches Edited February 26 by LFEE

Pata
8 hours ago, Hovagod said: Another thing is, is Sunderland that big a draw for the types that pay stupid money to attend football? The only real appeal of the game is surely the atmosphere that people would expect of a derby. An atmosphere that is going to be impossible to generate when you’re selling tickets for behind the goal for 700 quid. It’s a crass money grab by the club, and a completely self-defeating one. Of course it’s a big draw. Can see some Youtubers/influencers splashing out to get content out of one of the biggest derbies in the country and it’s a first in SJP for a long time. Also think those 700 quid tickets are targeting more corporations than individuals. The atmosphere really shouldn’t depend on members sale though, stadium is always full of season ticket holders. It would be interesting to see a plan of the ground with just season ticket seats populated. I think you’d find the Strawberry Corner, middle tier of Gallowgate, East Stand and Family enclosure would be the hot spots. Undoubtedly, season ticket holders should be the backbone of the atmosphere, but think it’s more complex when you’re looking at areas of the ground like the Leazes End. Getting the local youth in the ground is the way to improving the atmosphere, young lads having the opportunity to go with their mates. It’s no coincidence if you go down the leagues that’s how atmospheres are generated. The PL isn’t lending itself to this clientele through ticket pricing. To be selling general admission tickets to corporate clientele behind one of the goals is actively killing any chance of atmosphere, especially when they’ve been chomping on steak and chips at 11am in some poncey overpriced restaurant. The games gone and doubt I’ll be back at SJP again. Hopefully the good times continue, as doubt many of these corporate fans will be buying those same general admission seats for Bournemouth at home.
