Rich
People said the same in January when it got to this stage and were wrong. Myself included. Not getting Lingard felt terminal, ffs. We've got to trust Howe and the others at this point, surely?

Seems to be quite a mixed perception of what we 'need' in relation to what our aims are this season. Personally, I think our squad is strong enough to finish top 10 and have a good run in the cups this year which would be a good transition season for us. It's also harder for us to bring new blood in when we can't shift some of the deadwood. This will be a challenge for another year or so, imo.

Not about the money being spent, about the holes in the squad for me. Still lacking in midfield with Shelvey long term injured and another winger of quality wouldn't go amiss. Happy with our business so far though.
gdm
I think we have got a pretty decent squad. A brilliant one compared to last summer. Only slight issue is our bench is very uninspiring but that’ll be improved in the long term. One more player would be magic but we’ve just gave both City and Liverpool a good game we are in good shape
NE27
I think if the league wasn't looking so open, people would've been more than satisfied. Our performances with what we consider sub par players has actually raised people's expectations, and a few more top signings could see us making a real fist of it. If we can finish top 10 this season and give the cups a real go, I'm buzzing!
Awaymag
I think they will stick in this window and if we are looking good for a European spot come Jan, they will likely push again for for CM and RW. If anyone had said to the fan base that they would sign Botman and Isak in the summer window - everyone would have bit their hand off! KaKa
I'm guessing the people that keep going on about us being done and closed for business are saying this as a coping mechanism to manage their anxiety or something? None of us know for certain so can we just wait on any news and follow things the rest of the day in peace? My God.

Got nothing to do with how much, when you have the likes of Willock and Almiron as first team selections and Wood and Murphy still getting minutes, then that in my mind is a mistake IF we don't bring anyone in. Hopefully we still will though
gdm
The league does look very open and there is the view we should go for it in an ideal world

More of a case of are we really that eager to get another one done today rather than difficulty picking out the players from what’s potentially available. Flip
Liverpool signing Arthur on loan from Juventus. One less team going for Tielemans.
Peder75
Targett, Pope, Botman and Isak is a superb window. Have some patience. We can't sign them all this window, it's a long time project.

It's a very good window indeed, however, I think most of us are hoping for a push for European football given that with the best players we are capable of that and because depth is horrible. No one is hoping for a £50m signing, but at least a few players (or even one midfielder/RW) so we don't have to watch Wood or Murphy play vital roles for the team this season. xLiaaamx
If Shelvey wasn't injured we'd be alright in midfield. But since he's missing at least half the season we're really relying on Bruno staying constantly fit.

The ideal window was definitely us getting a CM and winger in on top of everything else we've done. That was always the case, for me. However, we're a far better team than I thought we would be already, so I wouldn't be surprised if Howe was a lot more relaxed about the squad than some of us are. The fact we're still clearly active in the market is a good thing, as if anything does come up due to other moves or circumstances then we'll be ready for it. Any business at all is definitely a bonus.

christ
I don’t think we’ll sign anyone and I don’t think that’s an issue. The squad is vastly improved on where we were twelve months ago - look at the spine of our team ffs - and it’s unreasonable to expect the owners to be able to address every weakness in two very different transfer windows. We’re at the start of a very long ride. I’m just going to try and enjoy supporting us for once.
Nucasol
1 hour ago, Big River said: you did say pre-Isak, and that was quite clearly ASM - Wilson - Miggy If you look at appearances, Fraser and Almiron played 29 times and 30 times respectively last season. From Howe coming in until the Wolves game, Fraser started 14 out of the 19 games. He then went missing again (injured?) allowing Almiron to come back into the team. No doubting neither of them have made the position their own but I feel if Fraser had been consistently fit or not missing for personal reasons he’d have been the starter. Both of them are still below the required standard though and will be on horrendous wages making them impossible to shift.
