João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

Recommended Posts

Part of the excitement with signing João Pedro for me was really with what level Howe could get him to, and the influence Joelinton and Bruno would have on him as fellow countrymen that are consummate professionals.

I just can't see him pushing on and developing into his full potential at Chelsea, as they just don't function that way, and so I can't help but feel it will be his loss.

The Chelsea lot aren't even excited about the signing, and so the pressure will be on from the outset too. Will watch on in glee if it all goes left.

Let's see where we go next. It's really somewhat of a relief these decisions are being made in June so we haven't been strung along all summer.

“Only wanted Chelsea” basically sums up why he’d never have been the right fit here anyway. He’s clearly a mercenary style player and at least now we can go back to calling him a nonce unequivocally in good conscience

I admire what Chelsea are doing, they literally dont give a fuck about whatever restrictions are in place and just do what they want. We should stop whining and try doing the same.

They’ve not broken a single restriction. Not sure what you are asking us to do in turn?

he’s getting a 7 year contract on big wages that’ll take him until he’s 30. Not sure there’s any loss involved for him at all.

Can't lie. Its a major bummer if he was a prime target and we thought we were getting him. Could turn out to be a blessing though.

We want players that want to be here and for the right reasons. This wasn't him. We move on.

If they were good at it I wouldn't mind [emoji38]

It's that they constantly swoop up and steel players as the financial rules were made to let them do, then they completely ruin the players career. Same again next year. Literally no benefit to anyone except people getting a random payday.

Brighton and Chelsea’s relationship in the transfer market is creepy as fuck like

As creepy as Joao Pedro’s interest in underage girls. Or Boehly’s in signing 17 year old boys.

I'm going to assume Howe and the rest of them knew Pedro was a no go once Chelsea came in which is why they "apparently" turned  to Simon's instead. Would make sense, we'd never go for both of them.

Who was it on here who said he’d want to come because it gotten this far when I dared to suggest otherwise? Agents are snakes. Never believe anything until registered

Disappointed as fell for him when he came on against us for Watford. Would’ve lead to some alternative setups and rotations.

No grudges held. We did to him what he’s just done to us.

Tbh the more I think about it - if he’s willing to join Chelsea with the inflated state of their squad - then it kinda shows his character for me. Taking a step back and looking at the big picture - a talented right winger should be chomping at the bit to get involved with our team. Pretty much guaranteed minutes in a World Cup year, a world class striker to support and feed and a proper united outfit ready to slog it out for the cause.

But he’s chosen London and money. Modern football is so wank.

I don't think it's going to go well from a sporting perspective.

Financially, yes, he will be just fine. Just like he would have been if he joined Newcastle. Same as he was already at Brighton.

Was trying to work it out. Probably about a quarter of a billion on caicedo cucurella sanchez pedo

Brighton probably paid about £2.50 all in for them

Not even bitter about this one. Including him in the first 11 would require a formation/system change or he’s a second striker to Isak. Far too high a fee for that level of question mark.

I do hope he’s shite though.

Now go and blast some serious money on a proper right winger please.
