Still think this would be the best option

We can't tell him where to go so I highly doubt he'll go to any Saudi club. As much as a lot of his decision will be about money, I think the money is equal to the prospect of potentially winning BIG trophies and the prestige of playing for a big 'history' club.

He's just went about it in the worst possible way, trying to force a move and leaving us next to no time to find a half decent substitute, and waiting for the best options to sign elsewhere, leaving us with.......what? Transfer market dregs.

Thanks Alexander.

I hope by dig in they mean rot in reserves. Or is this just us trying to get the price back up.

Eddie sitting on an unhappy player doesn't seem on brand.

Well turns out he was unhappy last season and did alright

If we've never given permission for them to speak to him or his agent why don't we do a Forest and report Liverpool to the league ? .....Oh i forgot they fucking run it.

Because about a dozen clubs could report us for the same thing.

Just don't sell. It will be fine. And we'll still get our 150m next year when we'll have a fully-functional front office to have planned out how to spend it for a year.

Some kind of unplanned, ill-advised shopping spree over the next month with 150m burning a hole in our pocket would be just about the worse possible way to approach this.

Isak's best option is to wait 12 months as bias-laden as that might sound.

If he goes to Chelsea he's not getting any real loyalty. They'll pick whoever scores and if Maresca struggles he's gone. Liverpool is likely a good fit tactically, but I'm not entirely sure how Ekitike, Wirtz and him play together. Real Madrid might want a striker in 12 months, as will Barcelona to replace Lewandowski.

Going now only gives you one proper option.

Not surprising at all we are at this point.

He isn't paid wages that match his level.  Asked for a new contract with improved terms, wasn't offered it.

Has spent years now watching the club be aimless in the transfer market.

Knows if he signs another contract he will spend his prime years here where the ambition of club leadership is questionable versus move to another club and have the chance to win loads of silverware.

If the club is not willing to pay him like a top, top player, you are admitting defeat and might as well try to move him on

made me laugh mind. Wants more money & unhappy we aren’t buying players. Almost like PSR isn’t a thing

I believe this has made bigger news in the media than it really is. Don’t be surprised if he signs a new contract with some sort of agreement of leaving next summer instead.

Team Hope v Team Edwards over this Isak situation :D

Despise both, but will be delighted if Edwards can ram it home to Hope and others if Isak stays. Would be fully behind Edwards giving it large for a couple of months on back of it before he goes back to knowing fuck all.

Btw logically speaking if it's a new contract issue it's he wants to stay on more money which is fair. So why did he reject the new contract?

If it's a money thing he will be off to Saudi as they will pay him the most.

If he ends up at Liverpool?

Don't see why it can't be a mixture of both. Sees more long-term success somewhere like Liverpool but could give us a bit more time if we cough up short term with a viable way out in a year if he wants.

Obviously it's speculation from all of us at this point. But I personally feel we've cocked up not giving him a new contract when we promised and he's not happy with simply being told 'don't worry the guy who fucked up is gone', made worse by watching us yet to even replace that scapegoat plus fail to successfully navigate another transfer window. I don't think anything we can offer will now satisfy him.

Honestly I wonder if half our attempted business this summer was focused specifically on keeping him sweet. The one and only player we've stumped up for being an international mate of his. The Ekitike punt to prove our ambition.

Currently we are quite stagnant after a period of rising up the table. Backroom is a mess and our transfers have been so slow and poor. Striker was needed last season and we didn't bother and kept going with Wilson.

If I'm isak for sure id be looking for a more ambitious club.

If he has to go, can it not be Barca or PSG or something?

Are you not aware of the financial mess Barca have been in for the past 4-5 years? They have just finished paying off the likes of Messi and co. They owe their injured 33 year old keeper (Ter Stegen) who is deemed to be third choice now around €40m. They couldn't afford Williams or Diaz for around €70m. They have gone for Rashford on loan with an option to buy.

As for PSG, they won the CL. Won the league with ease. They have dynamic forwards and look at who they left on the bench against Inter in the final. They are not desperate for a forward at all.

Another fucking usless cover all basis nothing article from Craig Dopey Cunt Hope.

Now for Romano, Jacobs, Ornstein to all tweet themselves, referencing this, for their own clickbait traction.

SHAMELESS CUNTS

Mitchell definitely being made the scapegoat like. Even if Isak wasn't happy with what he was being offered, he's now out the picture and we've known about 2 months now. Plenty opportunity for the club to say he fucked up, it's dealt with, here's what we offer. Personally feel Isak wants off regardless.

Someone said we already offered a new deal I think, but I can't really keep up.

Liverpool would have walked away long time ago if they felt they had no chance.

Eh? That makes no sense at all

We turned on him because he turned on us first, no? If he wants to stay then everything is lovely.

Based on Twitter crackheads and forum injury experts?

His agent could just be negotiating for a deserved pay rise.

And even if he does want to leave to compete for a Galactico style club (no timeframe stated either from the crackheads) - yes it'd be a shame, but there's no thanks for: humiliating Arsenal, the coldest celebration ever or scoring the only trophy-winning goal of our lifetimes? Just name-calling?

I just think jumping to calling him every name under the sun at a point when we remain so in the dark is not right.

People can react how they want, I suppose.

Would love to get to the bottom of what Paul Mitchell did to Craig Hope.

Absolute nothing article.

Oh I don’t know, maybe because Mitchell was just a walking disaster from the moment he showed up? It’s not like he immediately managed to alienate everyone actually good at the club. But yeah, let’s all play dumb and act like it’s some big mystery why anyone would have an issue with him.

I should probably relax tbf ... but you won’t catch me letting any Mitchell sympathy slide.
