Hmmm ... the Edwards article is far more interesting.

Looks like a major show of intent from the Saudi side could well settle things.

Need them to step up here.

Normally a player will only go on strike when he has already kinda agreed terms with the next suitor, I.e. he isn’t afraid to burn the bridge.

If it’s just the new contract not enough to satisfy his demands, he will not go that far, probably just continue to say he is injured / not feeling well.

His agent very likely has agreed terms with a club, just not sure it’s Liverpool or others.

"Paper bollocks"

This kind of stuff comes out because players and their  agents use these blokes to put it out there to force clubs hands so they can get a transfer

Its not Alan Oliver getting a snippet off Derek wright  anymore

Or they see Isak not travelling and make up plausible bollocks to get views and clicks

Based on Twitter crackheads and forum injury experts?

His agent could just be negotiating for a deserved pay rise.

And even if he does want to leave to compete for a Galactico style club (no timeframe stated either from the crackheads) - yes it'd be a shame, but there's no thanks for: humiliating Arsenal, the coldest celebration ever or scoring the only trophy-winning goal of our lifetimes? Just name-calling?

I just think jumping to calling him every name under the sun at a point when we remain so in the dark is not right.

People can react how they want, I suppose.

Wouldn’t say refusing to go on preseason trips is putting us in the dark, like. It’s more than clearly black and white.

Certainly the most balanced thing I've read, not I necessarily believe he really knows.

Hungry at the grocery store with the season 3 weeks away, what could go wrong.

While the manager who is pissed off at losing his best player and wants to get immediate results next season is running the whole thing. I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

Would love to see some sort of shameless power play here, sponsor the training ground or something ridiculous and offer Isak the cash.

There's absolutely nothing forcing the club to sell him to Liverpool mind. If we do it I'll hold the club completely responsible

My gut feel is that the only reason we would sell him to Liverpool is because Howe wants him out of our club and Liverpool is the only option. If Howe insists he stays then he stays.

Well, I couldn't give a fuck about pre-season. Also, he might actually be injured and have business to discuss with the club. That doesn't make him the devil.

Feels like a situation Steve Bruce will be an expert in, maybe it's time to bring him home

Was about to post the Pardew dance GIF and thought better of it. We should be kinder to each other in these difficult times.

I hope that is true - about time PIF showed some fight.  Now show some ambition - get that training ground built and start being a bit more 'present'.  And back Eddie in the market !!

You're forgetting the golden rule of Luke Edwards:

If he's reporting good news it's almost definitely false, if he's reporting bad news it's almost definitely false.
