Liverpool haven't made a second offer, by all accounts. We have no idea. You're saying "the club WILL do this" based on nothing but conjecture, then attacking the likes of Paully and other fans for doing the exact same thing

I suspect you're setting yourself up for a huge amount of disappointment if you think we'd reject it purely to be arsey and stick him on the bench until January though. It would be great, but we won't do it. If the local press 'mouth pieces' are a reliable indicator to you, their change in tone over the weekend should tell you all you need to know.

I think you were right in your earlier assessment though. We'd reject any offer of £110-120m from a business standpoint. We are far more likely to get more than that in January or June when it's probable other clubs will come into the auction. It's not even about being arsey and keeping him on the bench. We'd bring him back into the fold when he's ready, and I would imagine after the window closes that would be sooner rather than later.

I'm back in the "make him stay and play" camp now, probability of us signing another striker seems extremely low and we are in better shape with a toxic but very capable striker in the squad rather than piling pressure on Woltemade and/or having to play Osula or Gordon up top

Let's see what happens over the next 24 hours.

I personally would find it very hard to welcome Isak back into the team should he stay - it might actually mark the end of football for me, as someone who has attended Newcastle games since the age of five. These situations aren't unprecedented but are rarely played out in public to this extent, with such contempt and disrespect for the club and fans.

We wait to see what happens but he isn’t worth ending football for. Just my opinion as I totally get where you’re coming from 👊

Was anybody on there to counter that bullshit oversensitive bile that was spewing out of her gob? I think not.

What is clear is that we can't go on the rest of the season with a rookie striker and Willy Osula. That'd be disaster. And we sure as hell shouldn't be paying 65mil for Wissa or 70 for JSL. So it's all a Mexican standoff. If we can't get a Premiership-proven player in sharpish, Isak stays. We throw him in a boxing ring with the rest of the lads to settle matters, and carry on from there.

We've already seen this movie a decade ago when Cabaye sat out the opening weeks due to Arsenal's piss taking bid.

Just like than, fans will forget.

Basically it all depends on Wolves.  Wissa at 65 million in the PSR world means we effectively make no money from the Isak sale.

Course there wasn’t.  It’s the Sky 6 narrative.

I'm not so sure. This feels nothing like the Cabaye situation. It's played out a lot longer, more publicly, and the contempt from fans both online and in "real life" is on a complete different level to that situation.

The Cabaye thing happened when it was easy to be apathetic towards the club, the situations just aren't the same.

We’ve also got UCL, so there’s bigger things to focus on if Isak was to stay. It’s a massive home against Wolves we have to win, then a massive game under the lights in UCL against Barcelona.

Really, they’re ideal games to get him back into squad and get it brushed under, as us fans will be fully focussed on the XI starting both games and that’s all that matters.

We’d all know Isak would be off either in Jan or next summer, so it’s all muted stuff towards him. Players would respect him if his apology was sincere, as they know he’s key to contributing to their objectives this season.

If he does end up being brought back into the squad then I hope that they make him do a whole new initiation ceremony.

Dress the cunt up like Justin Tumble, give him a ukulele and get him to stand on a chair and perform Ivor Biggun's I'm a Wanker. Then put the footage on the club YouTube channel.

What is this whole thing that Liverpool are asking for our permission to make a bid. When has this ever been a thing in football transfers ?

Really weird.

But they have agreed personal terms with our contracted player…..

They want him for around £120m which only happens if we really want/need to sell him. If that is the position we find ourselves in then we may well end up going cap-in-hand asking for a deal. If not, there's no point in them putting another bid in uninvited.

This seems to be correct.

It's to make it look like we wanted the transfer to happen and not liverpool pushing and playing dirty.

Whoever approaches the other club first loses leverage so of course they’re hoping we come to them first.

Hopefully we don’t blink. If they want the cunt, they can make an offer.
