I'd imagine they'll have him on the bench, but this self imposed strike hasn't went well from a professional perspective - he got his move, but I wonder at what cost. Fans don’t mind as long as the goals go in. If he struggles at club or country then the knives will be out quickly based on who he’s shown himself to be. If he scores then the narrative is “he had to do what was right for his career”, if he doesn’t it becomes “he lost himself in the hype and his character and ego are the reason he’ll never reach the very top”.
