Eddie's quote about how he understands it's a short career making sense now.

It made sense at the time, Eddie is incredibly intelligent with the words he uses. It was clear a few days ago that the shit was going to hit the fan

Not going to lie, while from a club perspective if he does move him going to Al Hilal is the best outcome, my opinion of him personally would drop massively if he went to a Saudi club.

I'm fortunate in the sense that I don't particularly have the same emotional attachment to him that I do to Bruno and Tonali. I'll be gutted to lose a world class player but I couldn't really care less if he decides to go to Saudi. Thanks for the memories and enjoy your massive salary Alexander.

I am not saying we shouldn't up his wages but come to some sort of agreement - increase them as much as possible and agree with him he can go next season.  There is a right and wrong way to go about things.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but by all accounts we promised him a new deal, then Mitchell came in and knocked that on the head. Since then it's just been a lot of 'plan to open talks'. I don't think we've covered ourselves in glory with how we've been with him either.

Ship him off to Saudi for £150m, this day was always going to come.

Just please don't sell him to another premier league club

For the millionth time, we can't sell to a Saudi club. It will not help with PSR. Any move to Saudi needs to be ratified by PL. And Isak doesn't want to move out of Europe this early on in his career.

Maybe no chance he'd go to Saudi. But we could use any interest to drive up the price and the wages to anyone else IF he goes.

That new contract decision was a farce. Reports that it was Mitchell, but also at least one suggesting it was Isak's agent who pulled talks. From Martin Hardy mind.

He’s on less than Joelinton.  Toys out the pram seem reasonable to me.

If we believe the reports he isn't interested in a new deal. Obviously we would be making him out highest paid player he's not interested.

He's made his bed.

you'd rather walk away from signing 5 players? That's why fans make bad owners. Sell today & start building the squad

What five players? Don't make me laugh. We've had plenty of money to spend this window and only managed to sign one.

I'm not siding with Isak, but if we are going to quote teams '£130m+' to sign him, essentially pricing him as the best player in the leauge, we can't turn around and get pissed off he/his agent feels that means he should get paid like one of the best players in the league.

Have we done that ? What are contracts for ? What if initial talks were held and the player's side wanted a release clause that we didn't?

We wont sell him for 130m. Think he'll end up at Real Madrid for 150m

They've spent a bit already and don't see him. It's Liverpool Chelsea or PSG bail us out.

It's aids basically.

The club have managed to get one player through the door in about two years.

What makes you think they'll sign 5 in a few weeks when every club knows we've got cash to spend?

Cloud cuckoo land.

Do we know he didnt say this already at the start of the summer? Eddie's comments might mean that, and Isak might have refused to play until transfer is sorted.

I still don't think Liverpool have the money to get him, Diaz replacement and a CB

Why didn’t the absolute mug say this at the start of the summer or before Liverpool blasted all that money on another striker?

What an absolute disaster this summer has been

Um ...excuse me, we don't want him to go to Liverpool!!!

recall Klopp mumbling about how Liverpool will never be able to do what Newcastle doing? wonder how would he describe their summer window so far and how many rivals can keep up with them now.

Slot isn't Klopp and Klopp got his Sporting Director of choosing. Liverpool owners have their own recruitment team again since Klopp left.

at a guess: Wissa, Sesko, CM, CB & trafford in nets

People need to stop obsessing about the transfer fee, it's the PSR space it creates that's relevant to howe
