AyeDubbleYoo
I think if the takeover had taken another season I wouldn't be a fan now. I had already binned all my shirts etc and started wanting us to lose. That was about the club though, where this situation is just as much about the sport. My dad would ring me up every Saturday as always, asking if I'd seen the scores, how Arsenal got jammy again, how pathetic we'd played, how his Millwall were shit as well. And I'd be like yeah, yeah, I don't care dad. And then I lost him in 2021 and my biggest regret was downing tools on football, as we both loved it so much. So I got back into it all, not quite like it was where I'd be all over La Liga as well, but enough. So my long winded point here is that just keep treasuring these times with your dad, despite how fucked up it all is. Sorry if that's totally out of the blue Wait hold up a second, I stopped watching in Rafa's second season ( Was disillusioned with football in general) and only started to read anything on the sport this summer. I just this second found out about Bruce being the fucking manager I feel like Robin Williams in Jumanji right now.
Adam P
Our manager is an extremely strong leader, the decision on whether Isak went to Asia was his and his alone. The idea that Isak would refuse to travel when Eddie wanted him too is just absurd and stupid. The reasons may have been emanating from the Isak's agent but the decision was Eddie's. Injury, looking for another club, whatever reasons you want to put in there are all the considerations but the decison-maker on everything related to our first team is Eddie. If Isak is worried about the trajectory of the club I would point to us winning a trophy and qualifying for the Champions League last season. It's got fuck all to do with that and everything to do with wages. Howe working miracles with a small squad was the biggest factor IMO. It doesn't feel sustainable, and there's a sizeable risk we'll regress next season. Players may also have had expectations of a new training facility and significant inward investment, including closing commercial revenue gap, ensuring we can kick on and really scare the top 4. None of this has really materialised.

GallowgatePigeon
As many have already said so well, I'm not feeling down about this because we're set to lose the best player we've had in generations, it's more the fact that we could and we would be willing to pay him a salary that he'd be able to get elsewhere along with giving everyone else in the squad a payrise as and when they wanted it but are prevented from doing so as the cartel pulled up the drawbridge as soon as they sensed that we were a threat. Of course, Isak may have wanted to leave anyway and that's fine, it's his career, he owes us nothing. This summer and this saga has also shone a light on the borderline negligence at the top of the club. Whoever is in charge has made a pigs ear of one of the most crucial windows in modern times and has allowed us to be made a complete fool of in the media. It gives me the feeling that as soon as PIF realised it would take time and strategic planning to get us to the top instead of just piling obscene money into the team from day one, they lost the appetite and dropped us to focus on their vapid farce of a league. Whatever the case it all circles back to the cartel. I fucking hate those cunts collectively more than Sunderland. At least the mackems are just bunch of dafties down the road and are not a destructive force in football who not so long ago wanted to join a breakaway league Edited July 25, 2025 by GallowgatePigeon

As for Isak he has shown that he is more of a mercenary and less of a servant. If he truly cared about the club and the fans he wouldn't act this way. I don't wish him good or bad luck if he leaves, I just won't care. It's modern football, everything is driven by money..he's not a mercenary at all...hes been outstanding since he joined the club and help us win our first trophy in years. At the end of the day all footballers playing for a club like us will have their head turned by agents and other clubs doubling their wages. This is not new and will happen again in the years to come, if Madrid came in for Tonali on £250k a week he'd do exactly the same... Now it looks as though our relationship with the player has deteriorated to a place where we cant claw it back and any suitor will know that. Thats one perspective. Another one is that its better for Isak to be in the same time zone as the commercial and operational team as contract negotiations are ongoing (with us and others obviously). Another perspective could be that he feels Isak needs time to think and understands he needs to make an important career decision, the injury needs some rest and the combination of factors means an exhausinting long trip to the far east is not good for him. Another perspective might be that some isolation works well both ways, given the Isak story is probably the biggest one in world club football, our players dont need the distraction. There's a whole range of unknown factors and Eddie has taken them all into account and decided on what he thinks is best for the club. No way in the world he would let an agent / player dictate to him on club matters.

llcoolc157
Supporting Newcastle has and never will be straightforward, it really is as simple as that… and this is something I’ve come to accept over the years since the late 70’s… it’s not something I enjoy but just something I’ve had to learn to live with and accept… just when you think you’re on the up… some fucker comes along and toes you in the nads… So I’ve also come to accept that Isak will move on, the premier league are cunts and always will be to us, PSR rules are in place to fuck us over and the cartel will do everything they can to keep us down… So fuck them all and let’s crack on… Regroup, bolster the squad if possible, have a run in Europe and win another cup… And by doing so stick 2 fingers up to everyone who wants to knock us down… cos this shit will still be going on long after I’m gone… but at least we’ll never be defeated…

Then there's takeover, which "saved" us but also, just like PSR, represents much of what is wrong with modern football. Yes the rules are bent and football is fucked but it also gave us these last seasons, which have been some of the best for supporters of the club, culminating with our first trophy in 70 years. I don't need anything else. I've been very uneasy with the ownership since day one and I hope they sell up.
