Even though Isak can get fucked, Eddie is such a professional man.

Eddie is the only way this plays out well for us. If somehow Isak stays, I fully trust Eddie to get the best out of him still.

While Isak can get fucked, if Eddie told us we had to get behind again, then I totally would.

Priviledge to have such a brilliant manager.

The more I think about losing Isak, the more ok it will be:

- Most good strikers will get 15+ goals per season with our quality midfielders and wingers

- We could have a striker that can play more than 70 minutes per match

- We could have a striker who we trust to be able to play 2 matches per week without getting injured

- The money can be used to get two decent striker options

We do need to invest well, but we can definitely still exit this summer window with a better team even if Isak leaves.

Isak was going to go next summer, it’s just the way this has all come about leaves a bad taste in your mouth and will lead to rushed chaotic recruitment before the deadline. Money from

Isak could lead to a squad revamp but we haven’t exactly proved we can get deals sorted quickly have we.

Imagine if their respective clubs immediately decided "oh no we need to sell right away, we can't have an unhappy player" the moment Ronaldo/Rooney/Gerrard/Fabregas/Mbappe etc. etc. etc. agitated for a move for the first time.

Again, top players do this all the time. Get used to it. We'll sell him when it works for us, not a moment sooner.

Agree with this. First day I think I was resigned to him leaving but let's see how it pans out. He could easily have another 25 goal season for us.

Don't think there's another person I would back to persuade Isak into staying, getting his head right & performing at an elite level for Newcastle 2025/2026

If Eddie can't do it then the lads not the person / character Eddie thought he was & if thats the case (whatever has gone on) he should leave as quickly as possible for everyones sakes.

The world will keep spinning, Eddie will continue to be the alchemist he's proven to be with players & we will still be a formidable force in the PL, something we could of only dreamed about a little less than 4 years ago, any "tapping up" that has gone on imo is fair game, we do it, the cartel do it, everyone does it, no amount of twisting will change it.

WE MOVE ON

100%. The thing that's pissed me off the most isn't Isak leaving, it's the whole circus around it. From Liverpool fans getting huffed and being wankers on social media, the so called ITK journalists sensationalising everything, agents being rats and every one in between that feels they are some how part of the process.

Then there's Isak himself who hasn't went about it the right way.

We all thought getting CL and PSR being lifted would make this a great summer. Now we find ourselves scrapping about looking for players with a few weeks to go. Clubs will know this and possibly hike prices up. Question is will we pay it?  I think we've proved so far, we won't.

We need to just get through this summer as best we can then get the CEO and director of football situation sorted asap. We can’t go on in the current situation. The club also needs to pull its finger out with stadium plans, sponsorship etc. it’s got the feeling of being a bit rudderless currently.

If he’s going the only way I can accept it is he’s shown to be a mercenary and fucks off to Saudi for silly money or goes to the farmers league in France.

My mate who is an Arsenal fan reckons his agent has contacted Arsenal in the past couple of days to source their interest. Could barely contain my laughter.

If you want to be number 1, you don't sell your best players to a rival. When was the last time a top six club did that?

Van Persie to Man United probably. He almost single-handedly won Man United the league and Arsenal entered their banter era.

that's actually a good news - it means the Liverpool route is off

Wonder who 'the club' involved in the discussions with Isak are that Eddie refers to. Doubt it's Yasir, we have no CEO, and the lads who've been put in charge of our football transfers have a humiliation fetish.

I can't believe anyone in our position would sell him to Liverpool or another PL club, but they've shown themselves to be such utter pushovers this summer that I think they'll manage it and rubberstamp easily the worst Newcastle transfer window of my lifetime.

While I wholeheartedly agree with this,  we are screwed from being number 1 in this PSR world. When other clubs can offer double the wages we’re always going to be at risk of losing top players to other teams and players having their heads turned.

Whilst we could get a striker that chips in 15 (and they would have too if we are to finish top half), you can’t put a price on a player that scares opposition before the game has even started.

Isak is in that zone where defences are thinking about him before game has started, always trying to second guess his actions, doubting themselves. Fact he’s regularly bullied VVD and Gabriel/Saliba also scares other teams. All that then affords more space and time for our other attackers. It’s that stuff you can’t quantify with stats, but happens because of the aura.

It's just so pointless getting worked up about all of this with Howe in charge. Doesn't seemed phased about any of it at all, and is prepared for whatever circumstance arises.

Interesting that he said there were no contract talks going on, but that there may be potentially at a later date.

I can't help but wonder if any contract talks have not been pushed forward past surface discussions, as we've been waiting for the CEO and DOF hires to be confirmed first, so they could play some part in advising on that too.

May be a source of the frustration from Isak's end, especially after we already botched the situation last year.

If our ambition is to push on, we have to sell and reinvest as wisely as we’ve done to date under PIF. I’d have a different view if the player clearly didn’t want off. Let’s get the absolute maximum we can for him, replace him, bring in more high-level signings and ideally raise the ceiling on salaries to try and prevent this from happening next summer with another player we love.

Eddie makes me feel calm.

Him telling us that it's up to the club means I'm not calm at all. The people running things appear to be absolutely clueless when it comes to situations like this.
