Or Liverpool selling Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

Think Suarez to Arsenal is the closest comparison, which they flat out refused to do.

Pre-PSR days of course.

Until those rat cunts put a bid in, he's ours and will have to suck it up. Everyone and their dog online though seems to think he's already a Liverpool player. Pisses me off way too much

I mean, sticking your house up for rent isn't a spontaneous decision. Would surely have been long planned

Not in a footballers world.

The worry is that we've already unofficially agreed a fee that will be played out in public (to give the illusion we drove the price up as high as we possibly could) over the next few weeks and it'll be concluded, pure coincidentally, a day or 2 after Liverpool (H)

Yep - this is it.

That's what I was saying earlier about it not being what you'd expect a £150m star to be living in.

By contrast, Wilson and Dan Burn are very close to this place and their houses are beautiful.

I'd assume Wilsons is available now too just not being marketed publicly.

No wonder he wants to leave if he’s been living in that shithole

NO. NO SENSE. YOU BE MAD. YOU GRUNT.

It's a shitshow and I think people are fucked off because we thought maybe the 15 years of shit were the price to finally have a club that was run well, and you know. The club making inexplicable decisions that are against it's best interests is a song we never thought we'd hear again.

I almost daren't go there but I'm not convinced that's what we're facing, as fans.

If that's really what's happening, Howe won't stick around so I guess we'll just have to see. I would much rather see how the rest of the transfer window plays out before making conclusions on what the club's strategy is, plus we've got a new CEO and SD supposedly waiting in the wings. Processes should improve then.

Selling him to Liverpool is absolutely hideous but I probably land on the 'player power wins out' side of the argument, particularly when PSR forces us to maximise our sales (we rejected three bids from Leeds, apparently!) If he's adamant that he's going now, the decision makers probably see getting as high a fee as possible as being in the best interests of the club, regardless of where he goes.

An uncertain destination for an uncertain fee this time next year, or £100-150million right now... the club is always going to take the latter approach in the current environment.

It's a miserable reflection of the game these days but that's the context we're living in imo. There's no need for anyone to spiral into Ashley-era doom on the basis of what's happened so far this window.

This is my most Allardyche opinion but there are too many people at the decision making level of football that don't like the game.

If he really wasn't for sale then NUFC could end this saga swiftly by releasing a statement on the club website saying so. The fact that they haven't done that speaks volumes. They are obviously hunting for a suitable replacement and if they find one then they will open the doors to the dippers to put a bid in.

This is going to drag on until the end of the window.

I will repeat this ad nauseum until I know different. If we are selling Isak it will be because Howe thinks it best, and you would like to think at a price which suits us. People are losing their shit based on stuff they are making up in their own heads tbh.

Not that I think he's staying but not sure you can read much into that listing especially if it's just a rental. Don't doubt he lived there but maybe he moved out after the burglary? Bloke has basically infinite money when it comes to properties in the NE [emoji38]

Eddie Howe who has publicly said that his opinion is that we shouldn't sell him and that he hopes he's a Newcastle player at the start of the season, but that it's out of his hands.

This. If Isak is 100% wanting away, Eddie won’t want him in or near the team because of the negative impact on the group. That’s despite what upstairs may want. Ie he’s not for sale.

He said it's a club decision, and presumably that means he's included in it. Reading between the lines, I think he would like to keep Isak ( who wouldn't? ) but if he's determined to leave, then he doesn't want an unhappy player and would rather use the money to sign a top class replacement.

Graham Bailey already said that Howe is good mates with Hughes from Liverpool and they would have discussed the move off the record, hence no official bid yet. Of course that might all be speculative shite, but I just don't think Isak leaves unless Howe is on board with it.

I don't really see any world where Isak's price plummets next summer, mind. This seems like the absolute worst time to maximise his value when there's only one club in the mix. I reckon in absolute worst case scenario we'd still get the fee Liverpool reportedly want to pay this year.
