I don't really see any world where Isak's price plummets next summer, mind. This seems like the absolute worst time to maximise his value when there's only one club in the mix. I reckon in absolute worst case scenario we'd still get the fee Liverpool reportedly want to pay this year.

I think the financiers would just rather deal in certainties. Besides I think his value drops anyway by virtue of him having one year less on his contract.

This whole thing is just shit. :anguish:

Finally fell back in love with football after the dreadful Ashley years. Had a team and manager could be proud of and we finally won something in my lifetime which I was starting to wonder if it would ever happen.

Then despite having a great season last year we are about to lose our best player in a generation. Even though the club were telling us we're in a good place this summer, have funds and that Isak still has 3 years to run so under no pressure to sell.

The idea of us wilting under abit of pressure from the mighty Liverpool is really depressing and sets us back years.

Exactly where I'm at.

Need meaningful football back and SJP a bear pit with 3 points against Liverpool to get me back onside for starters

It’s more his head has been turned and he may have his heart set on a move away from us as shit as that is. If the case then Eddie will probably and reluctantly accept he has no place in the team as he would be a reluctant participant and disruptive to the group. I think with 3 years left on his contract that makes him a mercenary and will sour what has been an amazing time with us. Most on here would have accepted and expected him to go next season if we hadn’t kicked on, or couldn’t offer him the wages he would command if he had another 20 goal season. Maybe this is all about a new contract and he’ll get it with us and will be banging them in along with DCL this season [emoji38]

For me it is simple.
Isak should not be sold unless,
1) We get a suitable replacement for him (and we are already a striker down)
2) We get at least 150m for him, anything less will make us weaker.

So we would need 2 strikers to replace him, like i.e. Wissa and Sesko.

If not, we will need 1 striker and Isak will have to stay.  He will get over this and most likely be sold next summer.

Isak leaving is not the end of the world.  Howe seems to improve most players that have joined us and he is our most valuable asset at the club atm.

Newcastle still holds all the cards, not Liverpool despite pressure from the media and Romano (who looks like to be on Liverpool payroll).

Even if he sells for less next year you might have won a cup and qualified for the CL in the meantime, earning all the money and more back.

One potential issue is though if he stays with an agreement that he will be allowed to sign for another club next summer, what happens in those last 10 games of the season, which would be the crucial fixtures for CL qualification and potential finals? We already watched him pull out of games towards the end of last season, whether fitness related or otherwise. If he knows he's going to be allowed to talk to other clubs, he's hardly going to exert himself and risk injury and potentially jeopardising his future...

Add wankstain to that list of  big 6 agents also. It’s so transparent and their tweet patter is easy to decipher as to what inevitably happens next. Twunts.

Even today Craig Hope has released a video where he's saying if Isak goes it will be on our terms, that's after the Howe press conference. People here are just losing their shit unduly. It's not a great situation, but we still hold him under contract no matter what Liverpool fans, agents or Romano might tell the world.

I suspect he's a G wagon man?

Aye, seen him in it outside King Street Surshal Clurb in North Shields (when Adidas were filming there, not today)

Yep, I’m sure he would be desperate for the rent income 🤷‍♂️

He doesn't own it. Was only a Tenant so the presumption is that he's put his notice in and they've relisted it a bit too sharpish.

He could just be moving irrespective of the wider transfer discussions but it would be quite the coincidence.

I did think the house was owned by the club, as they do own a number of properties, but apparently its Ciaran Clarks old gaff.

I can forgive him moving to Liverpool, but I can’t forgive him becoming a landlord.
