Howe doesn't want Isak gone, he wants him to want to play for us and until he does  he has to sit out, it's simple. He's been told unequivocally that he's going nowhere and he'll have to eat humble pie at some point.

God forbid I’m starting to believe that Luke may well be right. What a world we live in.

I'm not selling him to Liverpool under any circumstances. I'm surprised no cunt else has bid for him given he's one of the best strikers around.

Great to hear. While you’re at it can you kidnap Conor Gallagher. And hoy loads of money at Brentford.

We need to let agents know that we won't be held to ransom.  They clearly want to move Isak on with a windfall of £15m from his sale and to also get a lump sum from Liverpool for facilitating the transfer.  I'm coming round to sticking Izak with the u21s for 3 years and let him go on a free age 29 with clubs wary of taking a chance on his unprofessional behaviour.

This is exactly what Isak, his agent and Liverpool want. They want fans/players/Howe to want him out. All part of their plan to try and reduce the price tag.

Although if it becomes too toxic, you have to wonder if Slot will start having doubts about him fitting into the team.

Well, they shouldn't of started all this sh*t in the first place, should they, o e things for certain , we don't want him, and if they don't bid, then he's cattle trucked.

Can’t comment for Howe, but I know (at least some of) the players want Alex gone.

Wouldn’t be surprised, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if the club refuse to budge at this point. And so we then have this standoff.

To me, Howe’s comments about this not being his decision strongly suggest that.

Presumably some of his (former) closest friends in the team, i assume?

They've won either way to some degree, in the short term. Unsettled a potential title rival.

Imagine if they don’t actually want him! Because if they do they will find the asking price for him. Caused a shit storm either way. Job done!

Loving all the sensationalist rags and paid shills with their emoji laden posts about us daring to hold onto our star striker, without us having a replacement, who has 3 years in his contract.

I really hope he's still here when the window closes.  If we hold onto him it's about more than just keeping him here, it's a statement that huffy cunts can't just brush aside their contract and get what they want.

Stomp your feet all you want you cunt.  Suck it up and earn your move or sit on the sidelines in a strop.

I certainly don't envy Howe in the slightest in this situation. Geezer has the mental resilience of a god.

Aye, I can't imagine how you'd even start to broach the situation with him.

I will keep using the Suarez thing as perfect example what the media darlings of Liverpool are gifted over us.

Regarding Suárez, he made it clear he wanted to leave for CL football and abroad, then changed tune to Arsenal. Liverpool’s response? They dug their heels in. Brendan Rodgers told the world they wouldn’t strengthen a rival, even made Suárez train away from the group for a bit, and refused to sell. The media called it ambition, defiance, and the hallmark of a big club. They were praised for protecting their top talent and showing they meant business. Fast forward to now and the media aren’t calling it ambition. They’re framing it as inevitable that we’ll sell, almost willing it to happen, as if we can’t possibly match Liverpool’s resolve. It’s a double standard, plain and simple. When a cartel 6 club refuses to sell, it’s strength; when Newcastle does it, it’s stubbornness. We should ignore the noise. If Liverpool were right to keep Suárez, then we’re right to keep Isak. This is about protecting our ambitions, not feeding theirs.

Yes, times have changed and social media amplifies the noise, agents play the press better, and player power is stronger than ever - but that’s exactly why our club has to hold its ground. If you cave because the headlines are louder, you’re telling every player they can force a move by stirring things up behiod the scenes. Newcastle’s finances, ambition, and contract control put us in a stronger position than Liverpool had in 2013.

It’s a tricky spot for Eddie, the board and the dressing room, especially given how unprofessional Isak has been over the last few weeks, but that makes standing firm even more important for me.

I personally don't hope we don't go down the stubborn way.

He is under contract yes, but he can still do the absolute minimum to keep to his contract. And for every month his value will dwindle while him still getting 120k/w.

It'll fuck our PSR completely but worse it'll devestate our reputation for new signings. Even if we are right in this matter, this sort of issues will certainly stain the club if we refuse to train and play him under the current circumstances. It would be different if players saw the club as their ceiling, but we're not there yet.

If he is he will lose and rightly so. I don't think he is though, just covering the options in case we get the players in required and Liverpool then play the valuation. I keep saying it you don't try and fuck around with the Saudis.

Sorry you don't let players and other clubs take the piss out of you. It would show a sign of total weakness if we did lm, and the Saudis are the last people who will allow that to happen
