I went to my first game in 1960 v Burnley and Liverpool were languishing in the 2nd Division…They only became a premier club in the 60’s because they were fortunate enough to have an amazing manager in Shankley or else they’d probably still be a 2nd rate club….Always hated them as a club, particularly in the 70’s when they were on TV every bloody week…I bloody hate “the liver birds” (for those who can remember that awful scouse ridden comedy)…I’ve travelled all around the UK all my life and hand on heart i can say that Scousers are the worst set of miserable cunts to inhabit this country…i could go on……I’m not big fans of Man U, City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs but they are reasonably acceptable clubs compared to this abomination of a club….DO NOT cave in and sell to this rabble…….Rant over😀

As we're into buying players who other clubs have just signed territory, I wonder whether Liverpool or Newcastle have wondered about Ekitike being part of a deal.

Obviously mental, but it's been a mental window.

I've wondered this too.  Swap Isak for Ekitike + cash seems like a straightforward solution.  Is there some rule against it?

I imagine Ekitike wouldn’t be thrilled by it having turned us down to join Liverpool

You clearly haven't read the previous page where Michael Owen told us that players routinely get forced into moves they don't want, against their will, and have absolutely no choice in the matter.

C'mon Jim, don't you remember Liverpool being turbocharged by loads of money from the Moores family who did the football pools, a very powerful cash machine at the time? You're spreading their myth if you say it was all amazing Mr. Shankley.

Fwiw, Brian Clough was always well supported and spent loads on players, including the first million pound one in Trevor Francis. Yes, him and Taylor were all-time greats, but they wouldn't have managed it with PSR. They had owners with deep pockets.

Players can only be registered for 2 clubs per season.

Was he registered for Frankfurt for this season?  Liverpool signed him a month ago.

The expectation is that we should have rolled over and sold him to them for what they see a fair price.  Because we haven’t were a mess

Yeah and one of them uses Suarez as an example of how they sold a player that wanted to leave and re invested the money completely ignoring they stopped him from going after he went on strike and sold him a year later. Idiots

Was a nice touch by Shepard to point a pistol at Owen's head each week when he deposited another 100k in his bank account

I forgot about the moore’s family…..still don’t think the scousers would have risen without shankley at the helm….anyway with or without them, they’re still an abomination of a club, which needs to be taken down a peg.

Arne Slopp on the news there, saying hes happy with his squad, but if there's a forward available, who they can agree a fee for, and who wants to join them, he hopes they can sign them.

Being all respectful of course and not naming anyone in particular.

Please tell me that isn't true. If it is then a line has well and truly been crossed there.
