Nothing to do with us having no strikers?

I wouldn’t say that’s the key reason no. There’s no point having the best striker in the world if they’re a piece of shit that the rest of the team don’t trust and who won’t ever put in a whole hearted performance again

My personal take is that Howe wants him out the club at all costs, even though he won’t ever say anything remotely along those lines. Yasir and the Saudi tortoises want to keep him as a show of strength and pride.

If he goes it’ll be because Eddie wants him gone and they’ve deferred to him on it. If he stays I reckon PIF will have forced it through after negotiating it with Eddie

Apparently the Saudis have been to see Isak, so it will be interesting to see what comes from that meeting.

Liverpool are not going to offer £150m, so who do we sell him to, it’s been stated all summer the fee is £150m just to get to the table, if we sell him for less now, the sly6 will be back next summer for the rest of our top players. It’s imperative that we keep him, why are people so blind to seeing this, you will be pissing and whinging next summer when our other star players are being unsettled, because we haven’t stood firm this year.

The owners went to see him at his home yesterday, so to me that indicates that they are of the opinion to keep him. Otherwise why bother to go and see him.

Exactly. If they wants to get rid of him or just let him rot for three years, they don’t need to send PIFs president Yasir to personally visit Isak.

To me it looks like Isak has completely lost his trust re the club and the management and thus he needs Yasir to make promises, and I can only think of promises to let him go next season.

Why he needs Yasir promise rather than a written agreement is another thing.

I would guess he’s seen as an honourable man because of his position, and what he says goes.

I don't see him going anywhere and that has to be the right call no matter what.

He'll play again, but this is why I'd want an incentive based contract so he can't just mope about.

But anyway I'd still drop him for Osula for the high profile CL games just for a laugh. That's no slight on Osula, great equaliser yesterday, just to see his moody mug on the bench.

One decent striker and we'd have between 2 and 5 more points I reckon. Can't stand what he's doing to the club, but equally can't sell him.

captain hindsight reporting for duty here but starting Osula against Villa probably gets us the 3 points there.

it’s why I’m not concerned about replacing Isaks goals, we create enough for 2 decent strikers beating Isak and Wilson’s efforts from the last 2 years.

there is the link up play aspect where we will struggle, although we have looked decent enough in getting the ball forward with purpose in the 2 games so far.

I'd rather finish 8th this season without him than 4th with him. I know that's petty as fuck but I just can't stand the thought of him pulling on our shirt again after the disrespect he's shown the club, his manager, team mates and the supporters.

An absolute shithouse of a bloke.

I can’t stand him but if we finish 8th we lose others, and that doesn’t help us in any way.

he has to come back in now, sell him abroad next summer.

Aye you're right of course. Just the thought of seeing that lanky streak of piss in a NUFC shirt again makes my skin crawl.

Anyone else feel like this would be Liverpool's Shearer if they did it? Like obviously he'd make them better and do class there. But there seem so many glaring weaknesses around the rest of the team that need addressed first. They should be pulling all the stops out for Guehi or similar now for instance rather than waiting a year.

Liverpool are cooked either way, early days but it certainly looks like their investment this summer has been pretty poor except Ekitike. £500m spend and I'd say they're a worse team than last season.
