OoOGazOoO
My other take on this is that the board have really got to come up trumps with deadline day incomings for Eddie today, otherwise they have left him up the creek without a paddle in my opinion. So it places more pressure on them to deliver today as we cannot just let Isak go and have no-one come in, we still need 2 or 3 in my opinion. Now whether he would have really sat on his arse until next year is up for debate, but it's pretty obvious that was his position in those discussions. that's why I edited my post. But I'd be very surprised if he refused to play for a season in a world cup year. It could be well down to the players absolutely despising the cunt though. I'd still be skeptical that there wasn't a way back from that on a temporary basis once the window shut and the douchebag was stuck here.
The College Dropout
Think playing 60-70 minutes a game will suit Isak. He’s pretty useless after 70 minutes unless there’s a penalty to be taken which he won’t get at Liverpool.
The Prophet
I'd also say this is the ownerships first real test on the transfer front. Liverpool kept Suarez when he threw a wobbler. Spurs kept Kane when he went on TV and stated he wasted to leave. We've folded, signalling we're here to do nothing more than service the cartel. We've sent a message if you unsettle our player we'll do business on favourable terms. It's a total capitulation.

Be amazing if this was a big **** you to Liverpool and Isak by pulling the deal in the last second but sadly this is real life and can't see PIF working that way. But if they want to get the fans back on side that's how you do it.

Just feels totally unnecessary when he's three years left. PIF just needed to stand firm a few more hours. Well not quite, they also need to utilise a guy who is refusing to play and then hope to sell him for a high fee after that. Or write off £100 million plus. TopL0ader
I can see him not being as successful at Liverpool. He relied heavily on Murphy who provided eight assists for Isaks Premier League goals last season, and then there is Gordon's and Barnes' assists. Liverpool do not play that game of early crosses for the main man with Salah and Gakpo who both play out wide for themselves to cut in to shoot. Clutching at straws as I've never wanted a player to fail as much. Isak personally by his actions took £25m off his price tag and our weak management never fined him a weeks wage in doing so. Gutted! Toonjam88
People kicking off about us selling him as it sets a precedent what were we supposed to do. He quite clearly would have sat on his arse and not played. He has already cost us at least 6 points if not 9. It would be a constant distraction Howe getting asked about him. It’s better getting rid. I’m just gutted it’s Liverpool I can’t stand them

hallihg
Remember - this is all strategically planned and executed by Eddie's buddies from the south - Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes. Tapped him up, agreed terms with the player and carried the whole plan out perfectly. Edited September 1, 2025 by hallihg typo
Moose
I know there's a lot of anger towards PIF for caving in at 130m and appearing weak. I'm not going to argue against any fans who feel that way or stick up for the ownership, but I will say that I think a lot of people are underestimating just how much influenced Eddie and the squad have had. It seems they shut down any notion of reintegration which is their absolute right and the idea of PIF having a 9 figure asset rotting in the reserves is fanciful at best, as satisfying as the idea of it is. Plenty of precedent for getting the players to continue to play for the club for at least a season. Is this so remarkably different from them? Suarez is the biggest douche in football history and Liverpool squeezed another 30 goals out of him.
