If nothing else, it's the optics of being dropped last night. It's a tiny bit humiliating in my eyes.

You do quite well in your first few games and immediately get dropped from the starting line up for a huge CL game, for a guy who isn't close to being match fit.

Convinced Slot did it simply to look good to the fans.

I think it was a really poor decision.

They got the result they wanted in the end but I feel sure that Ekitike wouldnt have been happy when he was told he was dropped.

One thing I felt Liverpool fans will realise quickly with Isak, his goal put was elevated because of Murphy. Can’t expect the same output when it’s Salah on RW.

Do feel as season goes on, Slot will realise (either by accident as he’s forced into it) that their best XI will see Wirtz LW and Isak, Kerkez and Frimpong all on bench.

Liverpool are fighting on four fronts, so of course Isak and Ekitike will have to accept lots of bench time. If we had two strikers right now, it would make sense to limit their playing with 7 games in 3 weeks.

Of course, if both are fully fit, that makes complete sense.

Isak isnt fit yet however, so dropping Ekitike seemed harsh. I'm sure Ekitike thinks so too.

(I accept I am trying to manifest unrest in the Liverpool camp here )

I still think it was bad man management though.

He's a great player but he has a lot of weaknesses aswell, his fitness, his laziness in the press, his non existent aerial ability, he likes to be fed and a team setup for him. Not sure salah and gakpo are gonna look to find him all the time like he was here.
